In my previous car, I had it mounted on the dashboard and angled the arm down to where I needed it. (The arm is very rigid and stays in place). I needed something that had a long reaching lead on it for a charger. Charger has a very sloped windshield. This did not have the reach I wanted. It was in the way of my view on the dashboard. I did however put in on the window on the driver side and it works ok there.
