We really like the look of these lamps, and the brightness. The switch on the pole is very convenient. The biggest problem we had was the difference in the machining of the threads to assemble the lamp. We needed 3, and the threads on one of them was so badly machined the lamp would not stand straight and wobbled. We returned that one and got another that was machined better. it was challenging to get the threads lined up but at least it stood straight and steady when assembled. We ordered 2 additional lamps just to make sure we could get that last one that went together well. So it seems like it's very individual to a specific lamp - if you get a good one, great. If not, return it and try another! ... show more

    • The Assembly Is the Hardest Part

It took me about 20 serious tries, over two days, to get the two parts of the main upright stand to thread into one another. And I'm still not sure they are right. There may be a slight crookedness to it yet, from one angle, but we're satisfied few would notice. Don't know what the threading issue is, exactly, but it was difficult to get those two pieces to thread into each other. If I were to do it again, I would not follow the instruction of starting with the base, but would work with those two upright pieces first. Then, once joined, it should be relatively easy to thread them into the stand. The lighting is bright -- we couldn't keep even a 100w bulb in the top of the torchiere, which can take up to 150w. We're at 75w and it's plenty bright in our living room. The two reading lights are good at 40w or 60w. This particular model, the Jordan, has a little more in the way of features than the other two with which it's grouped. It's the most expensive of the three, but the more closely I looked, the more I preferred this one. It's only been up and working about 10 days now, but so far, so good. The lampshades are glass and fairly nice looking. We have a somewhat ornate living room with other visual features, so the clean look of this fits in better than something more rococo, for us. If the switches hold up, I'll be happy and it will really be a 4-star lamp. The Assembly Is the Hardest Part! ... show more

We got this lamp to replace a different one we had purchased that broke after two days. This lamp is very sturdy and the three lights with two being adjustable provide a lot of lighting options. It looks very nice in or home too. Highly recommend if you are looking for this type of lighting.

We almost went with a cheaper lamp but I’m so glad we spent a bit more and got this one! Glass shades instead of plastic and the base is heavy and sturdy! Both on/off switches are easy to reach!

I needed a lamp to light up a dark corner in the living room. It came well packaged and I had the lamp assembled in less than 10 minutes. Even though the shades are plastic, for the price I think it looks great (I bought the black finish). I like that one can turn all the lights on at once or one at time. This lamp is very sturdy and provides the level of bright lighting I was looking for in my home office. First of all, the base is very heavy, meaning it will not topple or sway. Secondly, the shades are glass, not plastic. Lastly, and most important for my purposes, the individual lamps use INCANDESCENT bulbs, not that LED stuff. The two side lamps can take up to 60 watt bulbs each, while the top torchiere lamp can use up to 150 watts (I have a 100w in mine, and it is plenty bright). There are two separate switches that control the side lamps and the top torchiere, so you have total control over the amount of lighting. The side lamps are adjustable - I am able to point one of the side lamps directly to my desktop for excellent lighting on projects, papers, etc. This lamp is heavy, high quality, and attractive.
