My tween has decided that spending time brushing is a waste of his time and has started rushing through. Years of being a great brusher just gone, ugh. I had the dentist talk to him and for about a week it helped, but then he started sliding. I even had him use the timer on his toothbrush, but it has become a constant fight. Him claiming he is doing a good job even though he's only brushing for like 20 seconds... apparently he has a "technique" that he believes saves time and is just as effective. I told him if he got the same results brushing for 20 secs that he did when using the toothbrush timer, I would stop hassling him. But if he didn't then he would stop arguing and just brush his teeth like I'm asking. Challenge excepted. He was very smug, lol. I had him do the full amount on the tooth brush timer then chew up a tablet and look in the mirror. I even took a pic. Next day repeat, but with him going as fast for as short of time as his usual. Chew a tablet, check the mirror, be shocked at the HUGE difference longer brushing makes. It kind of shook him, plus if I say that wasn't long enough, and he argues, I ask if he wants to prove it, and rather than chew a tablet he just rebrushes lol. It's so much easier to reason with visible results backing me, than the whole "Because, I said so" dance we were doing.

These seem to work. The tablets are very small, blue, and do have a sweet taste to them. Once you chew and swish it around your mouth, it does somewhat dye everything in your mouth. The plaque areas are slightly darker than everywhere else. The dye seems to wash out easily, with no staining left behind. These are helping my son to better understand about where the plaque is, so he is getting better at brushing his teeth. We have not gotten the dye on our clothes, so I am unsure if it will stain clothes or not. It does wash out of the sink with no issues. Overall, I am happy with them.

These disclosing tablets are like magic! No more fighting about brushing teeth in my house. The kids are very competitive about trying to see who can get the least amount of blue on their teeth the first time they brush. They love how these taste, the flavor says grape, but I personally taste more berry flavor. The kids can easily grab one, chew it up, swish it around and see if there’s anywhere they need to brush better/more. This has helped to teach them where they’re not brushing enough and where they need to focus on better next time. They’re so excited to use these tablets and practice their brushing, I’ve caught them brushing multiple times a day then using the tablets, all in prep for the big competition before bed. This has made oral hygiene a fun game and gives the kids a clear visual of why it’s important to brush and to brush all sides of all of your teeth. I will warn these will turn your tongue BRIGHT BLUE! I tried scrubbing my tongue with my toothbrush to no avail, however the blue coloring did come off after a while. Just don’t use these tablets immediately before an important interview or important pictures or anything where you don’t want your tongue to be bright blue. Because of this, I only use these at night time so I know my tongue will have all night long to get that blue off. I highly recommend these disclosing tablets especially to families with children. This is a great way to get kids brushing and brushing well! Awesome product!

I've used these at the dentist office as a kid a few times and was excited to try them as an adult to see how well I'm brushing now. These work really well for their intended purpose! As others have mentioned, you'll want to use these at night and be prepared for a vigorous toothbrushing session after use to ensure your teeth (and tongue) aren't blue when you plan to leave the house or smile at other people. This tool really does help you understand how well you are brushing, so be ready for that learning experience.

This review is for the disclosing tablets. You brush and rinse, then chew a tablet and spit it back out. The color sticks to the gunk you missed. These seem to work. I did a "lazy" brush just to see how well they worked and was surprised how much dye was on the tongue, gums, and teeth.

These tablets sure point out how much you can miss when you’re brushing! I followed directions by brushing first, using a regular toothbrush, then chewing the tablet and swishing the solution. The first picture is my teeth after the first brushing. The second picture is after using the tablet…obviously the brushing was not very effective. I then brushed again, this time using my usual electric sonic toothbrush to remove the stain and plaque (third picture). The tablet was easy to chew and the flavor was ok so it would be something amenable to having kids use to check their brushing effectiveness. They will probably even enjoy having a blue mouth for a while! The blue color does persist in your mouth for a quite a few rinses, even after brushing. It’s not noticeable on the teeth so it must be on the other mouth surfaces. They recommend using the tablets in the evening so that the blue is totally gone by the morning, which it was in my case.

Both kids said they brushed, so I pulled these out to give them a shot. The older one immediately became visibly uncomfortable. Clearly she hadn't actually brushed, so (after addressing the lie) we treated it as a learning experience and each of them tried a tablet. Of course it lit up more on the one who didn't brush, so they both rinsed and brushed again to remove the discoloration. They asked to try again the next day - I think that's a winner.

The tablets are very small. I use them once per week for deep clean. The dye on the teeth is easy to brush off. However, I have to use a tongue scraper to clean up the dye color on the tongue with extra time.
