I have an older Ring 2 doorbell camera and was getting tired of charging the battery every few weeks. I found this adapter and it works perfectly. My Ring doorbell immediately recognized that it was "hardwired" which means it has not drawn down the battery at all in the last few weeks. This comes nicely packaged in a small box. The black wire is long enough to snake the wire around and into the building to plug it in. The round rings at the end of the cord are designed to easily connect to the screws on the back side of the Ring camera. If you are going to surface mount the cord, know that the camera won't sit flush with the wall because there is no built-in raceway in the camera body. It's best to drill a hole into the wall and feed the wire through, but I realize that's not always going to be possible. I haven't drilled a hole for the wire yet and right now the wire is smooshed behind the camera assembly. It doesn't affect the performance of the camera or cord. Overall a great addition to your Ring camera, especially if your batter doesn't last as long as it used to. ... show more

We replaced our remote control doorbell with a Ring doorbell. It's been great, but it burns through the battery so fast! After a few days of a dead Ring camera, we would finally get around to charging it. We finally got this, and we are thankful not to have to keep changing the battery! Plugged perfectly for my ring doorbell (which doesn’t typically work without a doorbell wire) and I was able to still utilize my ring doorbell.
