This review is for the JF.EGWO 4000A Peak Car Jump Starter with Air Compressor. I received the unit already fully charged, and then thoroughly tested the air compressor (and its auto-stop feature) on several passenger-car tires. I used the air hose extension with quick-connect that came with the unit. Unlike the smaller units that JF.EGWO sells, this one does not have any limitation on how long the compressor can be run, so I ran it constantly for at least 30 minutes while airing up all my tires. The unit became warm, but never got alarmingly hot. I did manage to run the battery down to 50% during this time, but did not have to resort to the 12VDC cigarette lighter cable included with the unit. The digital display on the 4000A has a bright white backlight, and is very easy to read, even in direct sunlight. It was very easy to set the desired inflation pressure, and once the hose was connected, it immediately displayed the current tire pressure in 0.5-PSI increments. I found that the desired pressure setting is adjustable from 5 PSI to 150 PSI. The compressor reliably shut itself off automatically once the selected pressure setting was reached on all of the tires that I inflated. This is very convenient, because you don't have to carefully watch to make sure it doesn't over-inflate your tires! I checked all the tires with a high-quality pressure gauge afterwards, and they were all 0.5 to 1 PSI above the desired pressure that I had set on the unit, which is very acceptable. After recharging the unit, I tested the two USB ports, charging a phone and an iPad simultaneously, and it worked great. I did not have to turn the unit "on" in order to charge these devices; I simply plugged them in and it started charging them. It should be noted that when the jump starter unit itself is being charged, it will NOT provide power to the USB ports! It needs to be unplugged from the charger before the USB ports will start providing power. This is an annoyance, but something that I can live with. The built-in LED flashlight (with two LEDs) works very well, and is surprisingly bright. The light has 3 modes: Solid on, "SOS", and fast flashing. After recharging to 100%, I tested the LED lights until the unit discharged to 25%, and it took over 32 hours for this to occur. I jump-started two vehicles with the 4000A, and it worked perfectly both times; there is no waiting period like some of the smaller jump starters require, and the jumper cable clamps seem to be pretty solidly built. The battery level on the unit didn't drop at all after these two jump-starts. The bright white digital battery meter on the side of the unit can display 5 different values, and these may be a little misleading at first glance. Here are the values that it can display, and what they actually mean: 100% = 80-100% charged; 75% = 69-79% charged; 50% = 40-59% charged; 25% = 20-39% charged; 0% = 2-19% charged. When you are charging the unit using the AC adapter, the display on the side will flash "IN", indicating that current is going into the device and charging it. As mentioned above, while "IN" is displayed, the USB ports will NOT provide power. Once the display shows 100%, you need to keep charging it until the "IN" indicator stops flashing. Otherwise, you may actually only be at 80% (see above). When you unplug the charger, the display shows "OUT", which means that it can provide power to the USB connectors. The power meter display will shut off automatically after 3 minutes, but the USB connectors will continue to provide power. I tested the in-car charging cable, which plugs into a cigarette-lighter outlet, and found that the "IN" indicator comes on during charging, but does NOT flash, unlike when using the AC adapter. I found that it charged in the car just as fast as it did with the AC adapter, and the display eventually showed 100%. Because the "IN" indicator does not flash, however, I don't know how to tell when the unit is truly charged to 100% capacity. It should be noted that there are two ports that the power cable can be plugged into on this unit. The port on the side is the one to use for charging the unit, whether you use the wall charger or the cigarette lighter cable. The port that is on TOP of the unit is only to be used when you want to run the air compressor for a longer time than the battery will last, because you can plug the cigarette lighter cable into that top port to run the compressor directly off your car battery. This TOP port should not be used for anything else - it will NOT charge the battery; it only supplies external power to the air compressor. The storage case on the 4000A unit is very nice, and protects the unit so thoroughly that you could probably throw it off a bridge without damaging it. Note that the smaller JF.EGWO units do not come with this very nice case. One last thing I will mention is that this unit does NOT comes with a standard cigarette lighter OUTPUT port. I found a small adapter, however, that can be used with the 4000A (and the smaller JF.EGWO units) that can be used to provide this feature: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019IFHLAE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details. Using this adapter, I was able to use the 4000A to power a small portable cooler for a couple of hours. Overall, I think the 4000A is the perfect light-weight replacement for those large lead-acid battery jump-starter units, and I already see evidence that the lithium-ion cells hold a charge a LOT longer than the lead-acid units do. I now own two of the 4000A units, one for each car, and they both work great.

I have had lithium ion battery jump starters before but not with this 28,000mAh capacity. My previous jump starter had a 16,500mAh battery and I learned the hard way that a smaller jump starter that partially discharges when stored in my car is inadequate. I used it to jump a customer's car when it was at approximately half charge and promptly ruined it. This model by JF.EGWO is superior in every way; it has nearly double the capacity at 4000 peak amps, versus 600A in my previous model. These batteries like to be stored at about 50% state of charge for longest life; even at less than full charge, this one has ample power to easily jump start even the most depleted car battery. The ability to charge other devices via USB-A outlets is also convenient. Operation is idiot-proof, with the unit sensing when a jump is needed just by plugging in the cables after connecting them to the car battery. After use or charging via USB, the unit automatically shuts down. Besides being very compact, I love having a built-in tire pump, too, and it can be preset to a specific shut-off pressure so you don’t have to monitor it closely while it is airing up a tire. The included carry case is of high quality; it neatly and securely stores all of the components. I am very pleased and would consider the 6000A version with the same compact dimensions for my next one.
