I wish I could tell you just how handy this rolling pin is. Or how this rolling pin puts all other rolling pins to shame. But I can't. At the time I am writing this review; my wife has had this rolling pin for months, but has yet to use it. When I asked her for ideas of what I could get her for Christmas, she exclaimed, "ooooooh, how about that gorgeous carrara marble rolling pin". I shouldn't have let myself get as excited as I did. I was under the impression that if I were to gift her a rolling pin, that I would benefit from it in the form of baked-goods. Boy was I wrong. It is a beautiful piece for the kitchen. And it makes the kitchen look like there is the occasional baked-good pulled from the oven; but it is simply a mirage. I guess that what I am trying to say is; if your wife is so obsessed with carrara marble that you name your dog Carrara; chances are that she wants you to buy it so that you own more carrara marble than that other lady she knows; and not because she wants to bake for you... ... show more

It’s beautiful! Rolls well UNLESS your dough is very cold. In that case it isn’t good that the roller moves independent of handles. It’s my first marble rolling pin and I expected it to function a bit better. Dough surprisingly sticks to roller once thawed a bit. So... hard to roll with cold dough but sticks once warmed a bit. Perhaps this is just the nature of a marble pin? It’s also very heavy so I can’t see grandma using it easily. But if you have a break-in... go for the pin over a kitchen knife for self defense. 😉 ... show more

This is a very beautiful roller, But it is only 10inches. With 4 inch handles ok either side but advertised as a 18 inch roller it really should specify the roller length and not include the handle length

    • Defective item. Impossible to assemble.

This is really nice, but it's impossible to assemble. The are no instructions, but from what i can tell, the handles are supposed to connect through the middle of the rolling pin and screw together. They aren't looking enough to even make any kind of connection, and even less so if we use the little rubber inserts. We are returning this. ... show more

A little weird to put together. My bf and I had a hell of a time because of they way it's designed. It seems almost impossible to put together. You need patience and a little luck! Lol After all is said and done it works well and is very pleasing to the eye!

Gorgeous marble with aluminum handle and matching marble holder. When placed in the holder there was no movement of the rolling pin, perfect fit . Looks nice on the countertop. Carefully packaged, with foam insert to prevent breakage. Straight out of the box I saw absolutely no imperfections in this product at all. Recommend reading the specifications on the weight of product, mine states 5 pounds and you definitely notice this when rolling the pin. Happy with my purchase so far although I have not yet put it to use making dough. ... show more

this is amaaazing! bought this to replace a french style wooden pin that had started to splinter even though it had been properly oiled and dried. i knew i wanted a marble pin for pastry baking, and metal handles to avoid the risk of splintering. this is a nicely weighted pin - not too heavy but hefty enough to really work dough around. it washes easily and dries beautifully. the stand helps keep it safe, but it also looks like a piece of art on my counter. i love it! ... show more
