It comes in this beautiful carrying case and each knife has its own sheath to protect it. They come already sharpened very durable and ready to use plus it has a finger protector and a way to scrub them clean. Being that I am late to this party and that there are currently 14 five and one four star review, with no lower star reviews, I have nothing new to add… Except that I will say that other reviewers have covered it well and that many of these reviews are little too generous… IMHO. These knives come extremely sharp out of the package. The entire set has a good variety of different blades that handle a good variety of different tasks. The case and accessories are a nice touch as well. This is an excellent purchase for someone looking to expand their knife options, or maybe replace an older set. I am mildly concerned that this Diversity DS Japanese Chef Knife Set appears to have Damascus blades in the ad-listing photos. The term “DS Japanese Chef Knife Set” may imply to some that the blades are Damascus steel. I don’t see anywhere that the ad-listing claims the blades are Damascus steel. These knives, I’m pretty sure, are either laser or chemical etched to obtain the appearance of Damascus steel blades. So... are these knives good? Yes, but... Not THAT good. Suffice it to say that I happily cast the 16th high star review for this beautiful, and well crafted, Diversity DS Japanese Chef Knife Set.
