This was the perfect little surprise gift for my son. He LOVES fishies. When we opened this, right on the packaging it says "starts growing in 1 hour" however this was false. We waited and hour, nothing. Waited 3hrs still nothing. Nothing happened after 6hrs. Nothing happened after two days. My son was SO disappointed he wanted to throw it away. We didn't think it worked. After reading some other reviews I came to find people having the same issue. This takes DAYS to grow. We are on day 6 and finally they are getting bigger. It was definitely a waste of money. Cute idea. But total waste. A 4yr old doesn't want to sit for days waiting for his fish to grow. Bummer. ... show more

I picked up one of the alligators that expands at the grocery store to try. My kids LOVED it, so I ordered a set with 6 animals for them. When I bought those, an ad for these came up. Since it's the same company, I thought the kids would love them. Compared to the others, this is kind of a let down. We only opened 2, but the tops leaked, so they couldn't carry them around. I noticed after a few days, there was a lot of mold inside it, despite the top being on the entire time. Also, the fish barely changed size, to the point, it was not a noticeable size difference after 24 hours. The fish may have expanded 50%- they definitely didn't double in size or even come close. I'll try another couple, but won't buy again ... show more
