I picked this up as a gift for my daughter. She had a lot of fun with it but got frustrated because the adhesive came off some of the gems when putting it together. It says ages 6-10, but because of the level of focus it takes, I'd recommend it more for ages 8-12.

This is a good Suncatcher Activity Kit. It includes 6 different transparent shapes ranging in size from 5" to 8.5" with outlines, a color guide of each of the same shape to follow, and large and small gemstones in 10 different colors to use. Simply peel and stick the gemstones on the transparent shapes, very easy to do. The finished product is clear and colorful, and the gemstones stick well. There are included mounting squares but I did not use since I want to be able to move them around, I used my own hole puncher on the transparent sheet to make a hole to hang them. These are cute window sun catchers and will no doubt light up your child's room. 4☆ because it's not giftable. At least not the one I received. There was a big gash on the bottom of the box. Doesn't look like anything is missing from the kit, but I wish more care was taken.

Positives 3 y/o & 6 y/o both could create a suncatcher mostly independently. They played quietly making their craft for a solid hour. The gems come attached with a double sided adhesive to a plastic backing. this was nice because a different brand (similar style craft) had baggies of loose gems that inevitably were all over the place. FYI notes The clear plastic sheet with the outline sits on top of the paper sheet that has the gem spots colored in. I used scotch tape to hold them in place on the table. Sometimes the gem came off without the adhesive. I used my nail to pull it off the backing and put it back on the gem & the kiddo could put it on the drawing. Not a big deal but when the kiddos got tired (evening craft) there were tears of frustration from the little one. ... show more

I ordered these for my 4 and 7 year old kids. These are great crafts to pull out on a rainy or cold day. They keep my kids occupied for quite a bit of time, but they aren't too large that they can't finish them in one sitting. The gems are very sparkly in the light and my kids love that.
