  • This chair needs additional TLC to function properly. But overall worth every penny.
The Chair is very comfortable for this disabled veteran. Very well crafted and decent design. First things first. modifications will be needed. 1. first thing i did was drill and tap some holes for a bracket to put under the leg rest. the cable lock system doesn't work and the leg prop will fall if pressure or more than 2lbs of weight is applied. -this is a must do if you get this product. 2. i bought some cheap surface Bearings sets to put under both arm rests to prevent rubbing and ease to use. -Not required 3. i replaced USB and HDMI cables and placed them inside a flex tube so they would no longer hang up and pull when moving the machine in different positions. - highly recommend. 4. I built my own custom PC case out of an old case i had and added a bracket that slides into the gap and bolts on the back of the machine and hangs the case right on the back of the machine. wires are routed in protective sleeves and out of sight. The Only Wires i have showing are from a square based Power strip i added myself from a 3rd party retailer. all of my lights, PC, and speakers i added all plug right in without having to purchase alot of extra wires and are all stowed away right inside the back of the Machine out of sight. not all of this is required most of it is to improve the quality of life of the product. ... show more

  • Very expensive for a gaming chair and a place for a pc..
Disgusting

  • Industrial High tech and awesome
So this chair was HEAVY. It's all metal (with seat pads) and you will need two very strong people to move it. (watch the video they provide as to how to move) The good - I bought this chair to help me with vision issues and I put a 49" LG curved monitor on it and it gets the screen close to my face so that my entire vision is screen. It helps me in this way and completely solves my monitor distance issues with regular chairs and tables/desks. I love the adjustability to the chair to go from sitting to near zero-g. It's really nice to be able to adjust how your body fits in the chair by using the remote and it gives you some relief as if you had stood up for a bit just by changing your sitting position. I'm 6' 3" and a bit and the chair fits me well. I find it easy to lose track of time in the chair and it's been very productive for me as a hacker by trade. I love the lighting and general design and look of the chair. Very cool. The motorized functions work well and seem powerful enough. I love the metal of the chair. it's very thick metal plate... if you were making a zombie armored car this would be the armor you'd put on said car) The scorpion tail is very strong and capable of lifting large monitors with ease. The chair can be tipped forward and rolled so one strong ish person can move it a little bit without help. Everyone that sees it freaks out because it's that cool. The scorpion tail allows you to put cords up and through to the base of the chair where they can connect to the computer so cords don't get in the way of adjustability or look trashy. The Ok: You will need really long cords for this! You won't want to have cords dangling from the monitor but to run them up through the scorpion tail. It takes about a 12-16 foot cord which can be hard to find. It can be hard to fish cables up through the arm so you want to have it in the right position and may need to use a tool or a lead to fish the cable up through. You will not want to use this chair if you are much overweight because there is not a lot of extra room elbows and on the sides of the chair where when you're lowered a bit the metal joints would bother you. I'm about 190lbs and have a relatively narrow waste and it's comfortable for me but if I was much bigger it soon wouldn't be. I'm a laptop user mostly and my laptop can't be open while having my screen down low. I can maneuver the chair into some positions where the laptop can sit under the screen but it has to be really close to you and that doesn't work for me so I leave my laptop in clamshell always on a podium BESIDE the chair. This way I clear the table area for my wireless keyboard and mouse and a notepad and other desky stuff. I like to keep the tray light so that when I slip the one arm out to get out of the chair that it doesn't take too much weight as I assume it will break it over time to have any kind of real weight on the table part when there is not much in the way of support under it as you get out and slide the arm back into a position where it holds the table up on the unsupported side again. Getting in and out of the chair can be relatively easy to relatively hard as you have it in different positions. You'll want to raise or adjust the arm accordingly so if you have 3 monitors or a giant wide monitor you can dodge that while entering and exiting the chair. It helps to raise the scorpion arm and get out. I'm lazy and like to leave it and I find it reasonably easy even though I'm over 50. The bad - I had a few problems. When I plugged it in nothing happened. I got into the back through the access port and found the motor and lights unplugged. So I plugged them in and things worked. I found a lot of extra screws and parts but no instructions. Watching a video online helped me set up the chair but there was no indication as to how to use the parts. I assume they are for repairs if needed. I found a couple of the functions on the remote were wired backwards so up was down and down was up. I'm a bit of a electronics geek so I fixed that quickly with a soldering iron. One of the upper leg potions of the scorpion legs was flipped the wrong way so I had to reverse that. The keyboard tray has to be moved manually to rest on the arm of the chair on the other side. This requires you to pull it over and seat it. (not too bad in my opinion since you can't have everything motorized without the chair weighing an impossible amount and motorized things take a while to move and it's faster to just pull the tray over) It's not hard to imagine that over time the tray system might become wiggly or not work as well. Being a tinkerer I kind of like the idea of working on improving aspects of the chair and that is one. While the scorpion legs look epic you will want to take them off to avoid getting in the way when entering and exiting the chair. (it's easy to remove them) There were a couple places that I thought should have used a longer screw but the extra pack of screws had only shorter ones. Overall - Overall I think I wish the table was a little more smooth and the opening and closing of the left arm was more smooth. I have a couple ways of improving that including a little grease in the mechanism and general tinkering. and stuff. The "industrial" aspects of the chair seem to pail in comparison to what the chair does do, and how dang cool it is. A non tinkerer may find the minor assembly and odd rough aspect of design to be off-putting for an expensive chair. For me, the time I spend in it enjoying the feel of being immersed in my work is worth a little TLC to keep the chair in tip top shape. After-market mods: I have added extra red lights inside, not that you really need extra but I figure why not go big?(red is my fave color and you can set it to what you want, green blue etc.) I put a massive 49 inch curved LG monitor on it. You won't want any bigger than that otherwise you won't see the edges. I could have gone 4 inches smaller and been still satisfied with the field of view. I added a few washers to some screws to proactively reduce wear. I replace the off-shore surge protectors inside the chair with a single small US style surge bar. I pulled cables through for USB, USB-C video and USB-C power and lights as mentioned. I've had it for about 3 months now and I'm loving it so far. Wear and tear wise, I'm expecting it may need TLC over time. But I think that's to be expected with anything that's motorized and this complex of a machine. It certainly met my expectations in spite of the small tweaks I've had to make. Not bad, considering that you basically have a battle-droid in your office. It definitely scratches the itch of wanting a starship captain's chair for work... albeit maybe a Klingon starship captains chair. ... show more
