We installed this really nice large electronic clock in the back of our church so that those serving in ministry on the front can discreetly keep track of time without having to check their watches or phones in view of the congregation. Two thumbs up! :-)

After purchasing the Ivation Huge 24" Inch Large Big Oversized Digital LED Clock, I was optimistic about its potential to be a functional and eye-catching addition to my home. However, my experience was overwhelmingly negative, leading to not one, but three returns due to the same persistent issues. Initially, I was drawn to the clock's large, bold display, which promised easy readability from a distance. Unfortunately, the reality was far from the marketing promises. The first clock I received had a display that flickered intermittently, making it impossible to tell the time accurately. Assuming I had received a defective unit, I opted for an exchange rather than a refund. The replacement unit, however, presented a new set of issues. This time, certain segments of the LED display were dimmer than others, and over a few days, some segments failed to light up at all. Again, I contacted customer service, who were polite but seemed unsurprised by my complaints, suggesting this might be a recurring problem with this model. Reluctantly, I decided to give it one last try. The third clock arrived with a display that functioned correctly for a couple of weeks before the same issues reappeared: flickering and uneven lighting that rendered the clock useless for its basic function—telling time. Beyond the malfunctioning display, the clock also lacked durability and quality in its build. The materials felt cheap, and the overall construction did not inspire confidence that it would last long, even if it had functioned correctly. In conclusion, the Ivation Huge 24" Inch Large Big Oversized Digital LED Clock was a major disappointment. It was unreliable and poorly constructed, with consistent display issues across multiple units. I would strongly advise potential buyers to consider other options if they need a reliable and durable digital clock. This product failed to deliver on its basic promises and turned out to be a waste of time and effort.

The clock looks very nice and seems to function well as a clock but I was unaware when I purchased it that you could not place it near a TV (I intended to install it about 14in above a TV on the wall). As I clicked the remote buttons to set the clock, the TV would turn on and change channels indicating that they share the same frequencies. Worse than that, after setting the time, I was unable to get it to save it. Pressing the button to save the time did nothing. Eventually I discovered that if I use the TV remote to turn off the TV before trying to save the time then it works.

I bought this clock because I am heavily into electronics and I wanted a fun project to sink my skills into. My issue with clocks like these, is that they cannot sync Timezone or DST. My entire goal was to remove the controller (the brain of the clock) and replace it with something better. I have put a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W into this clock. I have wired up the Digits (4 wires) the IR sensor (1 wire) and put in a better speaker. (1 wire) This clock keeps Time as perfectly as my phone does, supports all the original functions the original clock did. Stopwatch, Timer, Date, Room Temp, and Alarm clock. I replaced the Thermal sensor with a much better and accurate one that reads in both C and F down to the 3rd decimal. I setup a web panel to add Audio clips for any alarm events I need, like new years for example. The speaker I added has a small OPAMP IC attached to a USB Audio device connected to the pi. My clock program can play audio clips whenever the a set alarm time calls for it. This project was a lot of fun, and as an electronics nerd, I encourage others to seek out other products to tinker with and learn from.
