The outer bin had a couple of small dents. The lid is not water submergible and the instructions say to only clean with metal cleaner. That is not practical for everyday use. I don't mind that the inner bin is plastic, the problem is that it is not removable. That means every time I want to clean it, I'd need to clean the outside metal which is too time consuming. The included filter looks like it was not designed for this product. The filter is rectangular and the holding place is square. The filter has to be folded to fit inside. Very Disappointed. I did a ton of research and finally decided to purchase this compost pail, as it was the largest I could find for a countertop at 1.6 gallons. As an organic gardener I was looking for a stainless steel can, and this one stated it was made with tough steel. I guess i didn’t look close enough at the pictures, because I received the can and to my surprise the inside is plastic. Quality of plastic unknown. Doesn’t say anywhere in the description of the product that the inside is completely plastic (and you can’t pull it out like a trashbin, otherwise I would have taken it out and discarded it). Not only is it plastic, it is not stamped at all. So, one can infer that this is not high quality, food safe, non-BPA plastic. I use the compost I make on my organic garden, and I do not want my compost sitting in that kind of plastic, even for a short period of time. I don’t want the hassle of buying compostable liners, so I will be returning this product. ... show more

the product comes in pieces you have to order everything separate. the can comes , then you have to get a power cord separate, a can liner separate, not the bags. filters are separate, and fragrance is sold separate. nothing but the outside of the can an a top comes in the box.

This compost bin looks nice on my counter. I replaced my older stainless steel compost container because it had rusted out. This one is nicer looking and a bit bigger. The oval shape is better than the round shape for the fact that it sits deeper against the wall. The handle and the inside plastic lining is lime green, which is my least favorite thing about this item, but I have the handle down on the back side where no one can see it. I have a compostable liner in the container which covers up the lime green edge, so that is covered up as well. Best of all, it is super easy to keep clean inside and out, and no rust! Purchased an Amazon Warehouse open box…listing said like new, in original box. There is a huge dent in the can and parts missing. There were even items in the box that looks like the person that originally returned the can threw in the box as it sat in their possession…including pieces of trash. I purchase items from the warehouse often and a majority of the time the descriptions are accurate… The can itself is ok…lid closes with a loud snap and sometimes stays open. It works well for the purpose I need it for…but wouldn’t purchase again and glad I didn’t pay full price. ... show more

Nice looking, but arrived in an undented box with a substantial dent in the metal cover of the bin which suggests it was dented when it was shipped. Nothing new there, I guess. In any event, it is serviceable and looks okay even with the dinged lid. Instructions, as is the case with nearly all Chinese manufactured goods, are inadequate. Still, I like it and think it will be good enough to keep the Aquarian Rainbow shirts happy in case they ever do an inspection sweep to enforce the Fatherland's no food waste in the garbage edict. ... show more

This is a very nice product. My old compost container would have to be emptied every day because of the odor. This one can sit on my counter for a couple of days, which is nice. It is easy to clean. Would have loved it if it came in a oil-rubbed bronze or darker color. Also the green liner doesn't match my kitchen, but I can tolerate it and it doesn't affect my review. ... show more

As an avid vegan composter, I have to say that this bin was just what I needed. For years I used two plastic coffee "cans" for my scraps. They were unsightly in my nice kitchen and filled up so quickly that I was taking them out quite to the large compost bins almost daily. With this iTouchless Titanium 1.6 gallon bin I have not filled it up yet and it has been almost a week. I run two outside compost bins at different stages of decay. I don't really like to add to the raw one every day because my worms don't have time to break it down when I churn it up too often. When I first received the pkg I tried to register it online but it was not going through so I connected to the chat line. Not only did they register my product for me but sent me the free gift which was an extra charcoal odor packet that fits in the lid. It arrived about five days later.
