    • Diskashur M2 needs Win10 patch + reformat to NTFS + powered USB3 hub for many Win 10 laptops

The iStorage Diskashur M2 does seem to work better with recent high end Win11 PC desktops and laptops and Macbooks less than 2 years old. However, as many other reviewers of the iStorage Diskashur M2 have noted, the Win 10 disconnect patch and adjustments to USB settings work with only a subset of Win 10 PCs. Most Win10 laptops require use of a powered USB3 hub with >700 mA capacity per USB. A BYEASY 4 outlet 2000 mA hub works. None of the documentation mentions that it arrives as exFAT and must be reformatted to NTFS before use as Win10 backup that preserves file attributes. For most Win10 laptops and desktops, it initially disconnects after 10 seconds to a few minutes. I have tested this on 5 Win 10 PCs, all with the recommended patch installed and power saving turned off for USB devices. It would not work for 4 of 5 Win10 PCs. The use of a powered hub solved this problem. This drive claims to be plug and play for a wide range of PCs, Macs and OS systems but this is not my experience. Works well for 2 Months now. Easy to use. Good case. Code entry is convenient. No problems so far. Using it on Mac and PC. No connection problems. Fast transfer.

    • Disconnects extly 35 seconds after authenticating it

This storage device is dreadful - it disconnects after 35 seconds every single time and you have to constantly re-authenticate to get it back online. The patch they supply does not help and setting USB power tweak as they suggest also does not help. This is not usable.
