Must preface this to add that I have been using various countertop filters for more than ten years and I know how they work. That said, this unit arrived adequately packaged but something seemed off to me and at first I thought it was a return/refurb and maybe missing some components. I contacted customer support and they were wonderful and sent me another unit. In the meantime, I had installed the first one using a part from an older other brand and it did seem to be going okay but they already had another unit on the way! Just want to say that Don and Brian are very much into the customer service aspect and quite responsive. I do enjoy the transparent casing, this is the first time I have had a clear one (actually it is blue). It does not go with my kitchen decor but I figure I can always crochet a cozy for it if I don't want guests to be offended by the color clash or seeing (when it does) get icky from catching stuff. For now, it is nice to see the water going through it. Also, this is significantly more substantial than other brands I have owned. It is a good sturdy weight and not easily knocked over or flimsy. To people with leaking problems, a) DO NOT use the wrench to tighten the filter on install. Just like your truck car filter, it will squish the gasket out of place and have the opposite effect. The wrench is for taking it off. b) leaking at the faucet - be sure you cleaned the threads in your faucet spout and have the correct washer in there. I have never had a faucet adapter leak in ten years. c) if you have housing leaks it is the big o-ring on the canister. This is why I got turned off of this type for awhile- they are fine until you change the filter but have the same big o-ring on the housing. They always lieak by two or three cartridge changes. Use a vendor that has replacement o-rings available. You can thank me later. ... show more
