It could just be wear and tear from him being rough on things because my daughter’s scooter is older and it is still working just fine! I emailed the company about the battery issue and they sent out a new one! It was working fine for a week or two, but now won’t hold a charge. Emailed the company about it and they sent me a partial refund! Amazing customer service!! Bummed the scooter isn’t working right now, but thinking about purchasing another just because of the quality service I received and the fact that my daughters hasn’t had any issues. I bought my daughter one of these for Christmas 2022 and she loves it. My son tried it and also loved it, so he asked for one for his birthday. Easy to assemble, easy to turn on, charge, and easy to use after some practice if your kiddo is smaller. The charge on it is amazing. My oldest has a hover board and we also have a motorcycle power wheels and this scooter will do circles around both. Great product!!!

I purchased this scooter as a gift for my 9 yr old. He already had the self propelled scooter and had outgrown that model. I looked at a ton of available options and finally settled on this one. I am happy I did! My son loves it and now so does his cousins male and female :) I was worried at 1st that he would fall a lot while making this switch to motorized but my worries were unfounded. He learned quickly by simply practicing inside our house. By the time we went to the park he was a PRO! It has some really cool features that I really love. 1- The wheels light up when in motion. Helps me to keep an eye on him during the evening hrs in the park. 2- The battery life is decent. We get about 1.5 to 2 hrs of use when we're using it constantly 3- Speed is just right for his age and size. He scoots around and I ride in tandem on my bicycle. Great workout and he keeps up at max speed 4- It looks cool and is lightweight. Not bulky at all. 5- The steering handle detaches and so it'll even fit easily in a big shopping bag 🙂 FYI I cannot speak about using it without the steering handle because we haven't done so as yet. 6- it's functional even on not so smooth terrain. In summary, we've covered many miles with the scooter and it's a great buy and highly recommended. Again my son loves it and his opinion carries plenty of weight. 👍👍

Update: worked with the seller to resolve issue. We bought one and it stopped working after three rides. Amazon replaced it and this one stopped working again after a few rides. I believe it's faulty wiring on the inside. I looked online and saw some people who tried hacking it to fix it. I'm not going to spend $150 for something that breaks.

I originally purchased this for my son’s birthday and he was VERY excited. The scooter was easy to assemble and seemed to be of decent build quality. I consulted the instructions and charged the unit as outlined. My son took it out for a jaunt around the neighborhood and we got about 20-30 minutes into the walk (maybe 3/4 of a mile as we move pretty slow) and the unit completely died. No warning, no progressive discharge, just completely died. I thought maybe we just went too far (even though our walk was well within the established range); however, when we got home and I tried plugging it in to re-charge, the charger LED indicator remained a solid lit green. The unit never did take a charge after that. We returned the first one for an even exchange as my son adored the scooter. But the second unit FAILED IN EXACTLY THE SAME MANNER AS THE FIRST. We made it no more than a half hour of riding time and then BOOM, dead. Wouldn’t take a charge again either. I think there’s something dramatically wrong with the internal circuitry. My son and I are both wildly disappointed and it’s my recommendation that you skip this particular scooter if you’re looking for something along these lines. Hard pass.
