Earlier this year, I purchased a different brand of grip strengthener, a common plastic model that is widely available on Amazon from many sellers. Unfortunately, that other model proved to be ineffective; it actually snapped and broke after a month of regular use, which could have been dangerous, but luckily I was unscathed. A close call, but enough to make me reluctant to purchase that brand again. Captains of Crush is a slightly more expensive product, but it's way more serious and is well constructed. I wasn't sure where to begin so I ordered the "Scout" model (80 lbs), which has been treating me well. I expect that as I progress with my training I will proceed with the "heavier" models in this lineup. Grip strength training is easy and highly effective. There are a lot of crappy grip strengtheners on the market; Captains of Crush makes a high quality product and so far I've been very satisfied with it. ... show more

    • Handle Knurling not up to the job!

The diamond pattern knurling on the gripper handles is far too smooth - unlike older CoC grippers that had sharper and deeper knurling to improve handle grip.

I leave these in my car - anytime I am driving, I do an EMOM set of 1 or 2 squeezes in each hand for no less than 10 minutes. The power felt by my handshake leaves handshakees speechless. Highly recommend this product.
