  • Exactly what I was hoping for!
Really nice. Exactly as described. Easy to assemble and install. Haven't used enough yet to comment on the "smokeless" functionality, but I'm sure it will be reasonably functional based on it's design and previous experience with Solo stoves and small home-made secondary combustion stoves. Update: I had filled it with some leaves and ivy and general detritus from around the yard - some dry, some green...after a couple of weeks I lit it and it burned almost entirely, leaving little ash. The combustion air coming in from the bottom kept the fire going (smoldering, actually) enough to completely burn stuff. I'm impressed!! ... show more

  • Solid purchase
Size: 36" Radius
Solid design, extras screws provided in case we lost some. Yes some smoke appears but not sure you can expect "smokeless" from a fire ring. I can see the smoke circulating from top to bottoms but you do have to follow directions to provide correct air-flow! The gaps are important and had to adjust the ring to make it "flow". All in all solid ourchase and would recommend! ... show more

  • Best addition to fire pit!!!
Size: 36" Radius
Loving it! We did not follow directions as we are in a more rugged area. Using rocks for the insulation area leaving lots of gaps and shooting for the overall 1-2 inch airspace. It works great and puts out lots of heat! Rocks also above for the finished look.

  • A good product but didn't decrease smoke as much as I help
Size: 36" Radius
We bought this ring and found it easy to assemble and install in our fire pit. We have a ring of stones with capstone's on top for a more finished look and the ring is placed inside the bring a stones but underneath the cap stones so far smoke seems to be decreased but not by a lot does anybody have any suggestions on what can further diminish the smoke ... show more

  • Truly smokeless and aesthetically pleasing!!
Size: 36" Radius Wildlife
Heavy iron, and once you get the fire going good, it truly is smokeless as the smoke rises up instead of out! Design is also cool and many guests to my fire pit have commented on how they like it! Setting it up was easy and I coated it in olive oil before the first and second use to season it. Having winters here, I also coated it in November in hopes to delay rusting and weathering. ... show more

  • Would buy again!
Super happy with this fire ring. Was going to purchase a smoke less fire pit, but found this and used it in my current fire pitt and it works great! Alot less smoke when we are having a fire for smores/mountain pies.

  • I dont care how it works, it just works!!
Size: 36" Radius
Was skeptical but truly works! A little smoke when you first start the fire but goes away quickly. Dont build the fire over the top of the ring is the secret! Fit my pit perfectly!! Love it! Buy it!

  • Is it worth the money?
Size: 36" Radius
Meh, it does the job but what was most disappointing was the packaging and the lack of craftsmanship. Much like you, I was looking at this fire ring because of the predrilled holes. After much thought, I bought this thing because the price went down a little and time was kind of running out in order for me to build my fire pit and enjoy a few weekend nights before winter decided to hit western Wisconsin. As you can see from the pictures below, the package arrived brutally damaged. Not sure if it was from the courier or what but I was afraid some items were missing. The ring comes in four different pieces that you must fasten together with the provided hardware (which was thankfully still in the box). Mine came with 5 bolts (#2 Phillips head) and nuts. Even though there are welded nuts on the inside of the ring for the bolt to go into, mine had extras, and I’ll tell you why. One of the bolts that was welded to the ring had broken off meaning the actual weld had snapped. Luckily I was able to locate it in the package and reuse it. I used a screwdriver to hold the head of the bolt and an impact wrench with an adapter chuck to screw the nut into the bolt on all of them. The manufacturer includes directions on how to build a stone ring around the metal ring for proper airflow, but I added a few more combustion holes for more primary air and esthetics. Once getting the OK from local utilities, I dug a 12” hole for water drainage and filled it with river rock and paver sand on top of that to level it out. After placing the stones, I sealed the inside of the blocks with high temp brick caulk so no air could penetrate from the outside unless it came through the supply holes I spaced out. After I added more caulk on top of the pavers where the ring sets, I then set the ring on top of the pavers and twisted it back and forth for the caulk to spread a little more under the metal ring and let dry for 2 days. The first fire we had a I used some ash and paper birch wood I had from my yard that I’m sure wasn’t completely dried. For the most part it was a smokeless fire and if I had dryer wood if would have been better. I’m overall pleased with the results, but I think the price of the ring is a little bit high for what I experienced. More fires to come next spring to find out if it still holds up ... show more
