I live in NM and I don’t have AC, I have what is referred to as a swamp cooler or evaporative cooler. And it SUCKS! It only works in dry weather, so in the summer when it rains, it’s miserable. I've bought SEVERAL of these fans locally as gifts - and decided to order one for my mom who is struggling with hot flashes due to breast cancer treatment. Mine has been a lifesaver for severe hot flashes for a few years now! I lose far less sleep now that I can turn my fan off and on via remote, and it makes - literally - NO noise. The best setting is the one that mimics a breeze, alternating between a gentle flow of air to gradually growing in intensity, then becoming gentle again. SO perfect for nighttime!
