ACDelco GM Original Equipment Engine Coolant Thermostat/Water Inlet Assemblies contain the engine thermostat and water inlet housing and are GM-recommended replacements for your vehicle’s original components. The engine coolant thermostat controls the flow of coolant through the radiator to enable the engine to reach and maintain its normal operating temperature. The water inlet housing connects the radiator hoses to the thermostat. For certain applications, the water inlet contains threaded holes or ports for sensors and switches. Perfect fit for my 2008 GMC Acadia. Been trying to fix one problem with my Acadia and as a result replacing pretty much everything. Today was the turn of "thermostat" which is kind of pain to reach and take out, so rather than that I found this fantastic product which came with complete assembly kit with the gaskets (although I didn't use those, ordered different ones). It could have been an easier and shorter job but took me few hours as it was harder to pull the small pipe out of its plastic connector, it was different and really easy to take off, once you know how to do it. Overall, this was a good purchase and fixed this issue very well. Added another skill to my skill set. This item is difficult to install, but it is NOT the item's fault. Engine/vehicle design is why it's hard to install. Until the previous unit started to fail, my temperature gauge was always at 210 degrees (probably reading a little higher than actual), but very consistent. With this unit, the temperature gauge is typically one line below 210. That is probably very accurate, but the gauge does wander around a little bit. The failure of the old unit was the gasket that the thermostat sets in, rather than the thermostat itself. That failure allowed coolant to bypass the thermostat. The factory unit lasted 8 years, the first replacement lasted only two years. I gave 4, rather than 5 stars, because looking at the gasket on this unit, combined with the slight fluctuations of the temperature gauge, I only expect the same two years of service from it. I will be pleasantly surprised if it goes beyond two years of service. ... show more

Came with everything needed to change the thermostat. Perfect oem replacement part. Car started to overheat and this was the fix. Very simple to change with minimal mechanical skills.
