I’ve never had a phone with wireless charging but just recently went from Android to the “Dark Side”. That would be iPhone 14 Pro Max, 2 of them actually. His and Hers, so to speak. So I’ve had to change out my car chargers. With my Android phones (Huawei’s, guess China won’t be reading my texts anymore) I had vent holders that held my phone with some arms and you would attach a wired charging cable directly to the phone. Well, moving up to wireless charging using Apple’s MagSafe I found that I didn’t need a vent mount with arms just one that had a good magnet. I’ve heard of iOttie and I did some research. Good reviews, nice clean design and surprise surprise, it works. According to the reviews that is. So being cautious I order one and put it in my wife’s car. Yeah, “hey Mikey” so to speak. Came by Amazon delivery, a truck no drone…Dang! Packaging is very reminiscent of Apple packaging which is to say nice and neat. Charger is pretty minimalistic, kind of a blue/gray puck that doesn’t shout at you. Cable is attached to the puck and the other end is usb-c that connects to a lighter plug (included) that goes in your lighter socket. I’ve got two older cars that don’t have usb-c plugs so I can’t say if you could bypass the cigarette plug and go direct to usb-c so you’re on your own in that regard. Set it up in the wife’s car and slapped on my brand spanking new iPhone 14 Pro Max with a MagSafe case. Works like a charm. You don’t really have to slap the phone on you just hold it up close and it just kind of gets sucked on to the puck. The only criticism is how to stiffen up the mount. It attaches to the vent with it’s fingers but when you put the iPhone 14 Pro Max on it the puck face droops down a bit. Have to realize how heavy that Pro Max is. I’ve tried removing the mount and turning the ball socket at the rear to see if I could tighten it up but that doesn’t seem to work. It’s not a big deal but I’d like to get it at the absolute perfect position but it keeps eluding me. As I said, not a huge deal but wish it had this adjustment feature. Now realize that this thing charges at like 7.5 W so it’s not fast charging but it is charging. After deciding that it was well made, looked good, and it worked I bought a second one for my car. I upgraded to an iPhone 14 pro and my old holder did not work. I tried two inexpensive vansky holders ($10 to $15) but returned both as junk. I was drawn to this for the MagSafe charging (great) and the hope that the arm extension would fit the Jeep window (it didn't). The magnet easily holds my iPhone 14 pro! So I did some surgery on the included adhesive backing and fit the adhesive mount into the dashboard tray. It works. My sunglasses are now relegated to the seat storage compartment but it's a small price to pay to have the phone mounted well. The arm length from the dashboard is perfect. My only issue now with the mount is that the arm sags becajuse the iPhone is too heavy. Once I get it positioned where I want, some all purpose glue will fix this issue. I don't knock them for this; the new phones are super heavy. Note that this uses a mico usb connector on the included cable. The also give you a nice cigarette charger but I already have a better one so will be buying a new adapter for micro usb to usb to make it work. That's not a knock-off on the product. (I wish the US was like the EU and made all these phone companies adopt a single type of cable.) ... show more

Look at the Moment Pixel 6 case on Amazon. Note the location of the internal magnet ring in the molding of the Moment case. Duplicate that location on the outside of the Google Pixel 6 case to install the Wannap ring (6 pcs for $10). Use the volume down button on the Pixel 6 as a reference for the center of the ring. Installing the Wannap ring didn't appear to interfere with the normal Qi wireless charging in an Anker stand or a 2 different LK wireless Qi charging stands. So...using a Pixel 6 in a Google Pixel 6 case with the Wannap ring in conjunction with the iOttie Velox car mount (using the supplied iOttie cigarette charger & cable) worked fine. It held the Pixel 6 securely AND wireless charging to the Pixel 6 worked as expected. It'd be nice if the iOttie offered a less expensive version of the package with a USB-C connector only so folks could utilize existing USB-C m-m cables and/or a USB-C cigarette charger. They probably didn't so they could guarantee the integrity of the charging path so there would be no problems. ... show more

Style: Wireless Charging Dash Pattern Name: Charging Car Mount
It was hard for me to choose between the Dash version and the Vent version, but I eventually decided to go with the dashboard version as I didn't want to block my car's air vent. That's although all the dashboard mounts I ever bought have dried-out in time due to the hot weather in my country and didn't hold anymore. But I decided to give this one a try anyway. I was very glad to see that the box contains what in first glance looks like a coaster, but it's not(!) It actually serves for a scenario that you have a textured dashboard (like in my case) where the suction of the base of the mount doesn't hold very well since it's not on a flat/smooth surface. The "coaster" comes specifically to aid you in this case - it has a sticky part at the bottom which you need to peel-off the protecting film from, and to stick it in the preferred location on your dashboard – choose the location you put it carefully as once it’s sticked, it would be difficult to take it off to relocate to a different spot. THEN - you need to raise the suction lever of the mount base, to put it on the other flat/smooth surface of the "coaster" and to lower the lever of the mount base firmly. It will hold the mount arm in place like a solid rock! And the telescopic arm is a very convenient feature! Oh, I almost forgot - the MagSafe works great at both holding my iPhone 12 mini in place and in charging it. The only down-side I can point out about (which made me give this review only 4/5 stars and not 5/5) is that the piece that goes into the car's lighter socket doesn't have a led indicator, so you can't really tell if you have a bad fuse if/when it suddenly stops charging. ... show more
