  • Love it, and you can to I have tips - 9 yrs experience with this
I buy two of these every year. I have tips. 1 buy a cover, 2 buy bleach tabs and a floating dispenser, 3 buy a good air pump. I use XPOWER A-2 Airrow Pro Multi-Use Electric Computer Duster Dryer Air Pump Blower , 4 buy plastic to put down on the ground before you put the pool down, and make sure to check for twigs and other sharp objects. Make the plastic TWO feet wider then the pool as that's how far the pool will expand over time. With the blower takes mere minutes to blow up. Make sure when you blow it up the wrinkles at the corners are not there. That's the biggest problem people are having. They aren't blowing up the pool all the way then wonder why it bowes. Blow up the pool! Let it set for a day with the cover on. The next day you will notice it will need air. The pool is expanding because of the sun and heat. Blow it up again. This time add your water, and bleach ball with tabs. Each day for about a week the pool is going to expand due to the sun and the heat. Blow it up. After about 2 weeks the pool will stop expanding. The lower ring may start to go into the pool water. Though the lower ring is hard, its NOT FULL. It's not full which is why it's going into the pool water. Looks like the top ring is overloading it. It's not. It's just the pressure of the water and the stretch of the top ring are making it cave. So I hit the bottom ring with low power for about 2 minutes each time I fill it. This prevents it from overlapping or sagging. The pool cover serves two purposes, 1 it keeps the water clean and it heats it like a solar cover. I buy two every year because I put one up in June, and about l mid August it's got a hole due to all the expanding and scraping of the cover going on and off. I'm in it near every day. I fill it to the max line, and yes as the pool expands it will not only need air but water. I've been doing this for NINE years now. I use a cut off hose to siphon out the dirt on the bottom and a butterfly net from the dollar tree to clean out the grass on the top of the pool. ... show more

  • Worth it had alot of fun.
I got this for the summer and it was really worth it the only problem was inflating it took some time to do it. But it was worth the price. I would add pictures but it's winter now so we put it back in the box.

  • Not the most durable, but a nice generous size makes up for it.
I bought this for my niece and nephew to play in, and I even used it myself when they weren't around. You should know that it holds a LOT of water, which scared me at first. It is a LOT of water--it takes a good 30 minutes to fill with the hose. It says it holds almost 200 gallons. That seems like a massive amount of water, and it might not be right for you. The sides are nice and high, which could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your kids. It is definitely better for bigger kids who are steady on their feet; my 2.5-year-old niece delighted in bouncing against the walls over and over and splashing back into the fairly deep (approx 1-1.5 feet) water. You can fill it higher than is recommended; the sides are sturdy, but I found that filling it to the line was more than enough. However, the high sides were trickier for my 1-year-old nephew. This may seem obvious, but you really have to sit right there and watch them to make sure they're OK--I would not want to leave a kid, especially a small kid, unattended for even two seconds. You can't see over the sides well, so young toddlers disappear from view if you walk a distance away--take note, grandparents, parents, and aunties/uncles! That said, this was more than big enough for one adult and the two kids to get into, we had a blast with it, and it lasted two summers before it got a leak and started to sag by the end of each day. It needs to be filled with an electric pump FOR SURE. You need one with a big nozzle, like the 1" round one, the one you use to fill up Intex airbeds, inflatable canoes/rafts/kayaks, etc. The regular teeny nozzles that come with hand pumps do not work. The correct nozzle is at least an inch across. One cool thing--it has a smaller (medium sized, 1"-ish) sealed inlet for putting in air with the Intex nozzle, and then you can pop out a cap thingy underneath that, and the air rushes out of a larger 2" unsealed opening when you need to deflate. This means you don't need to sit there and squeeze the input valve to let the air out like you do with some air mattresses. It deflates quickly and without a pump to suck the air out, and you don't have to attend to it while it's deflating. The drain plug was a bit of a pest; it needs to be propped open if you plan to drain the pool (the force of the water pops it shut in milliseconds), but I always emptied the pool with a 5-gallon bucket so I could recycle the water to the garden because I never put bleach in it. You could also siphon it if you have gravity on your side. It was a lot of water, but I only used it one or two days each week, and I covered it with the cover that goes with it, which worked OK but not great. I washed and dried it, folded it, and took it into the garage during the winter. It did get grass and mildew stains on it, especially on the bottom, but it was fairly easy to clean with a plastic scrub brush and some soap and water, though after a few weeks in the soggy Portland grass, it didn't look pristine any more. Still, it was clean, and a good time was had by all. Well worth the money if you can get a summer or two out of it and then recycle it. The thought of this monster thing in the landfill for the next 40,000 years is absolutely horrifying. Final note: I only used it one or two days a week during sunny weeks from June to September. It might not last more than one summer--or maybe even one month--if you have exuberant or larger kids and/or you use it daily. Still, on a hot day, nothing beats it. But I'm not giving it five stars because I do feel that a two-and-a-half-year-old child shouldn't be able to destroy a kiddie pool placed on soft grass if she uses it only about a dozen times. I can't imagine treating it with more care than I did, and still--now I'm in the market for a new one. ... show more
