Update after 9 months: Still going strong! Used the hot tub for 3 months, then deflated and packed it away for the summer (my location is too hot and humid to enjoy it during the summer months). Pulled it out of my storage shed before Christmas and got it back up and running with little trouble. Had to repair a small air leak on the outside of the tub (the repair kit that comes with the tub is useless - had to purchase a vinyl pool repair kit from Lowe’s instead) and pressure wash it, but no major issues. Still enjoying this purchase and would recommend. We had been wanting a “real” hot tub for awhile and decided to purchase this for a trial run. Watched tutorials on YouTube prior to assembling. It was a breeze. Just be careful not to over-inflate as it places too much stress on the seams. The tub is sturdy and you can sit on the edge without issue. Out of box, there were no leaks or problems with deflation. Initial heating took a full 48 hours to reach 104 degrees, but that was with outside temps near freezing overnight. Bubbles provide a gentle massage which is perfect for me. If you’re looking for the deep pressure massage that jets provide, you will be disappointed. The water temperature does drop faster with bubbles on, but that is to be expected. By the time the water temp drops below 100 degrees, I am ready to get out anyway. Our hot tub sits on a brick patio, so we purchased cheap 3/4 inch foam insulation panels from Home Depot to place under the tub to protect from punctures and heat loss. We use 1 inch bromine tablets and they fit perfectly in the chemical dispenser provided. Also purchased 2 intex seats, drink holder (a must have) and the LED light. The headrests are unnecessary and waste of money in my opinion. I recommend purchasing the 6-person size tub if you can spare the extra 10 inches of space. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this size actually accommodates 4 people at the most. Approximately $800 all in including chemicals, filters and accessories. My family loves it and it seems well worth the money so far. Hopefully it will hold up over time. Will update this review later regarding longevity.

At the time I write this, the spa has only one review which gave it one star. I'm finally writing my first ever Amazon product review, after having read zillions of them over the years, because I think showing this thing as a one-star product is unfair. As far as I can tell, this is simply the newer version of the 28403E Intex PureSpa, with just a different, presumably upgraded, pump/heater unit. That product has 2,800+ reviews averaging 4 stars, which is what I based my purchase on. And as far as a sub-$500 purchase for a hot tub, this thing is amazing. Sure, it's not as nice as a $5000 hard sided spa--of course it isn't. But once it's set up and you're sitting in it with the bubbles on, it's really pretty close. And I had no issues setting it up and getting it to temperature. I put water in it Friday night and used it at 100 degrees on Saturday night. Used it again the next afternoon. Quality seems great so far and I'm super impressed by it. It's very sturdy and, once put together, looks more like an actual hot tub and less like an inflatable pool toy (which I was kinda afraid of). Time will tell how much impact it has on my utility bill - that's the only open question now. Also, I got the energy efficient cover for an extra $100. Looks like this one will ship to California without it (other Intex ones wouldn't; I think it's an energy efficiency issue), but I got it anyways. I won't know otherwise, but it seems to be a solid investment for the tub and isn't much of a hassle to take on and off. I'm fully prepared that this thing may only have the durability to last a year or two, but at this price I was willing to take a chance on it to have a spa on the patio that I could set up myself. So far I'm glad I did!

I purchased this hot tub for Christmas. It was delivered fast and in great condition. I set it up and was so surprised at how sturdy this hot tub is. I can easily sit on the sides and it doesn't budge. When I thought of a blow up hot tub, I thought it would be flimsy, like a kids hot tub --- IT IS NOT!!! It is strong and thick. It was VERY simple to set up. Directions are straightforward. I had it up and running within 30 minutes. I was able to set my tankless water heater to 104 degrees and fill the hot tub with hot water so I was able to get in it that night! The bubbles are strong and do seem to be therapeutic - not as therapeutic as a hot tub with jets that are directional, but beggars can't be choosers. It definitely works well for my aching bones and muscles. The filters work well. I can go about two weeks without changing them. I usually rotate them so I only have to replace one at a time. I don't mess with the pH levels much and it stays clear. Just add a little chlorine and you are good to go. I did have a bit of a hiccup. After 2 or 3 weeks, I got an error code that meant the heater wasn't working. It was a pump issue - defective. So I emailed DMJ, the company that sold it to me. They were GREAT! I did have to box it all back up and ship it all back to them, but...well worth it, since the makers of it were saying it would take 2-1/2 months to send me a part to fix it myself. NO WAY!!! I sent it back to them and they sent me a brand new one. It works perfectly. I haven't had a problem yet. I love this hot tub and I am in it constantly. Well worth the investment! I will hopefully eventually be able to afford a real one, but for the time being, this one is excellent.

We’ve had our tub for just about a year now and love it! It’s exactly what we wanted without the cost of a higher end model. We put it on a 1” thick circle of styrofoam when we got it and we ran it all winter in New England (fairly efficiently) by adding a 2” circle of styrofoam over the top and covering it with an additional thin cover brought on Amazon and held down with a few rocks. Never felt a need for the headrests to tip your head forward and haven’t tried the optional seats, but I do keep a noodle in there to put under my arms for support and we definitely recommend the the drink holder that sits over the edge of the tub! We don’t run bubbles when it’s cool/cold as it dramatically decreases the water temp by adding outdoor temp air into the tub. Stays plenty warm if you skip the bubbles. Haven’t tried the trick of putting a space heater in front of the air intake yet, but read that some have had luck with that. The bubbles are great, but we save them for summer! Much as we love our tub and found it well worth the investment, it does have one serious design flaw. As long as you’re prepared to be a little handy and pull it apart and fix it periodically, it’s not that bad. It’s just too bad the company won’t fix it as they know it’s an issue. When (not if) your tub decides to throw the E-90 error code, it’s possible you just need to clean the filters but more likely the Impeller shaft in the pump has whittled down and broken. The impeller is the part inside the pump that spins with a magnet and fins. Because of the magnet the rod can’t be made of magnetic material or it won’t work. The pump comes with a ceramic shaft that will snap once it’s run long enough that all the turning finally wears the rod down and it will break. Our original lasted almost 8-9 months. You can temporarily fix this with brass (even a piece of fat coat hanger) but it is soft and will whittle down and break or bend within a month or 2). This sometimes seems to often be triggered by power outages that jerk the pump to stop and start. Sometime it just won’t start spinning again and when you try to start it up you can hear that it’s not filtering the water and the code will alarm indicating you’ll need to replace it again. After the third brass replacement I installed a stainless steel rod and was hopeful it would last longer. It did not. I took pics of the process this time to pass along as it took me a while to find enough posts and comments to figure this all out myself. The rod needs to be 1/8” round and exactly 3” long. I bought a long brass rod at the hardware store which lasted me several inexpensive replacements but I recommend getting a ceramic rod to replace it like the original. I was able to order a 12" one that I was able to carefully snap into 4 of the correct length. One pic has the remaining pieces of the orig ceramic rod, the three whittled brass ones next to two of the steel ones I tried. Okay-here are some steps and pics to fix this when you need to: Unplug unit first. Then you need to take off the filter on the inside of the tub closest to the unit and use the two black caps provided to block these two outlets on the inside of the tub from the pump unit (this will block the other filter as well so it can stay put). Then unscrew the 3 connections on the pump unit from the tub. Some water will leak but just screw the outer caps on the water outlets and hopefully it’ll only drip a little if any. Next dump the water out of the pump unit by tipping it before bringing it inside to work on (yeah, I flooded my workbench the first time). Remove the 4 screws that hold the base on the unit (you’ll need a long handle phillipshead). Then tip it sideways plug end up and from the bottom remove the pump by disattaching it at the following 4 points: unscrew the two hand rotating pipe connectors (be careful of the rubber gaskets inside), unscrew the electric cord cover then pull the cord out, and unscrew the one screw at the top. These are at the red arrows in the picture. Once the pump is wiggled out, remove the 5 bolts holding it together (some of the nuts may be glued on, some may fall out just keep track of them). Inside you’ll see the impeller fins sticking out of the pump. The rod is held in place by two rubber ends (mine have worn through at the ends but still hold a rod in place so make sure to keep them and set them in their end locations). Carefully pull the impeller out. You find the damaged rod and notice the ends not in contact with the spinning are still at full 1/8” width. Pull out the pieces and insert new rod into the shaft and wedge it into the rubber holder end. Insert the impeller over it (the magnet will pull it in fast so don’t get pinched!) and then with the other rubber end in its place in the cap of the pump, gently line it back up and screw it back together snug. Retrace your steps putting the unit back together (it takes a little jiggling to push the pump back up into its spot and again be careful of the gaskets). Screw the base back on and reattach the unit back to the tub (again, be careful if those gaskets too). Remember to remove the inner rubber plugs in your tub before starting it back up or it won’t be able to pull water and the error will go again (yeah, I did that the first time lol)! Screw your filter back on too. Anyway, hope this helps and I don’t mean to deter you from this tub- read all the comments, it’s not perfect, but if you go in expecting a fun treat that’s not terribly expensive for what it is, you’ll be very happy with your purchase!

UPDATE: I purchased this Spa 2 years ago via Amazon. I have had to buy and replace the impeller rod (twice) and the motor. And now the spa tub seams have split, and it's leaking air. I tried preparing with waterproof Gorilla tape and Flex Tape to no avail. So now my hot tub is useless. I contacted Support in Chat to see if there is a replacement tub, as I use this for health reasons. I am a senior with osteoarthritis and degenerative bone disease on a fixed income. I found the replacement tub, which was $180. The total came out to over $230 with tax and shipping. I chatted with their support team and called the San Pedro, CA office to see if they could help me out by giving me a little discount or taking off the shipping cost. The reps for Intex said they do not provide discounts. I pleaded with them to no avail. After buying the product and then having to buy replacement parts to keep it going, you would think Intex would help an old lady out. But no. I got nothing but no. So, because the low-quality product only lasted about a year, and for poor customer service, I am giving this product and Intex 1 star. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I bought this in October 2021 as a 50th birthday present for my wife. We love it and have used it often. (Yardwork and aging do not mix!) It has held up well because we clean and maintain it regularly; however, it stopped working in January. We have searched the internet, even called the company, and never found any help. We recently discovered a YT video by a guy who had the same problem: a tiny little ceramic (really? not made of something more durable?!) impeller rod that broke. Even though this is a fairly common issue, there is no replacement part for it. The issue is we are not mechanics or fabricators, nor have a way to "replicate" the tiny little rod. Does anyone have a suggestion or fix they've made to help us get our $800 spa back? Intex?

For the price, I can't complain at all. It has been very sturdy with no leaks (water or air). It's been running all summer non-stop and we use it multiple times a week. The only down-side is the heat loss when using the tub. The temperature tends to drop anywhere between 3 to 8 degrees in 1/2 hour depending on temperature outside.... so continued use beyond 45 minutes to an hour is usually not very comfortable. Regardless though, we have really enjoyed this and believe it was well worth the price. Additional Notes: * Two adults (me at 6'1 and my wife at 5') fit very comfortably. Can't imagine a 3rd person fitting comfortably though (4 people would be crazy tight). * It does take about two days to heat the tub up during initial setup. * Per another review, I added 3/4 inch foam insulation board below the tub (two 4x8 pieces taped together and cut into a circle) since the tub sits on jagged pavers. This was a great idea as I believe it does help keep the heat in and eliminates the possibility of puncturing the bottom of the tub on something sharp. Additional purchases we made for the tub: * Intex seats (2 pack), but I'm too tall to use mine and my wife needs it to stay above the water line. * Intex head rests (2 pack) and we never use them. They' don't stay in place and aren't very comfortable. * Intex in-tub LED lighting... my wife loves this. It's really nice at night. * Intex cleaning kit. Works as noted, but a little pricey as any kit will do the job. * Intex filters (6-pack). Rinse them weekly and replace them monthly with no issues. * Clorox Pool & Spa Xtra Blue 1" Chlorinating tablet. Fits in the chlorine ball perfectly and does the job (you will need these immediately after setup). * Test Lab 5 in 1 Spa and Hot Tub strips. Only get a few with the tub.... so you will need more. * Additional chemicals as required as you test.

I had a Saluspa in WV and loved it. We now live in WY harsher winter's and colder nights. Due to sky rocket increase on prices of these things I managed to get lucky and catch this Intex brand. It's sturdy and a little bigger than the one I use to have. Set up took about 45min and about an hour to fill up. Took 48 hours to heat up but we have had cold nights down in the 30's since I've got it. 4 adults will fit but not comfortably. We only have 2 adults and a grand baby so this suits us fine. Jets are powerful and do the job. They actually help and do not irritate the skin. I bought bromine instead of chlorine, pH up and down, alkalinity, and some spa clear on case it gets cloudy. Chemicals are good right away but we do have a lot of alkali in out water and hoping the pump will handle it better than our humidifiers do. Delivery took about a week but with Covid that was great. Winter months will move it to the garage but highly recommend. It's only been 3 days so I will update if anything happens. I've already enjoyed it twice and plan on it a lot more. We looked into getting a real hot tub so we could have it through the winter but for the price this does just fine. Previously the one I had raised the electric bill $25-30 ea month. This one says energy efficient but holds more water and a little bigger so we will see in time if it does better.

UPDATE: Going on 6 months now and it's still going strong. Only had one E90 error and it reset after installing new filter. Only have 2 issues with this tub, first, the filtering pump will shutdown on its own after a while and have to turn it back on. I am talking about the pump not the bubbler which turns off after 30 minutes. 2nd issue is one morning I checked on it and it had no power and wouldn't turn on. I thought it tripped a breaker but no. I did some testing and found the circuit breaker inside the plug itself was bad. It wouldn't reset....too weak. I contacted customer service and got no response. I am wanting a new plug. I decided to remove the bad plug with a standard plug, plugging it in a gfci outlet. I'm back in business. Still like my tub but their CS is non-existent. I had this tub up and running in about an hour. Installed on my deck over interlocking foam tiles for added cushion and insulation. Water was 60 degrees f when I filled it around 1 pm. By 11am the next day the temp was 98. I believe the foam really helps heating and retaining heat. I spent 2 hours in it yesterday and it was awesome!. The bubbles are strong and soothing. The noise made by the bubbles reminded me of rafting down the Colorado! Kind of a soothing sound but loud. One thing I would liked Intex to have added to the bubbler blower is a high/low switch. High is great on my aching muscles but a low option would be nice when you prefer a quieter more intimate moment. BTW, For those that have issues of this tub not heating fast enough, you have to realize that it only has a 1300 watt heating element.... basically a hair drier. The pump, blower and heater draws 12 amps and typical house breakers or fuses are 15 amp. Any higher watt heater would be tripping breakers or blowing fuses.
