I purchased this inflatable 4 person hot tub this week and it arrived earlier than expected. I also purchased the 1/2 in. EVA foam padding (77 in. circular) for under the hot tub. I placed the included pad underneath the foam. I was able to assemble the hot tub, cover and power unit by myself, (58(f) 5 ft. tall). I did quite a bit of research and this tub seemed to have the happiest purchasers. Customer service was prompt and (mostly) helpful. None of the tubs I looked at had high review numbers but this one had over 2,000 reviews and a 4.1 rating. I attempted to plug it into my exterior carport GFCI. The cover on my outlet obstructed this so I purchased an inline GFCI 12 gauge power block that I then plugged my hot tub cord into. I'm still having my electrician check out the situation, but so far so good. It took the expected 2 degrees per hour to heat up to 104. Got into it last night for the first time and it was glorious. I filled it between max/min and am able to sit flat and have my neck and head above water (remember, I'm 5 ft.). Motor noise when idle is very quiet with typical loudness for a hot tub when the jets are going. Chemicals DO NOT come with the hot tub. I purchased a set of chemicals for $99 for inflatable hot tubs. I prefer bromine to chlorine. I saw mixed reviews on the longevity of the tub using bromine vs. chlorine. I was able to get my water stable rather quickly (I've owned hard side tubs so I know the ins and outs). The box it came in was pretty heavy but they delivered directly to my carport and with some maneuvering I was able to get it unboxed pretty easily. The box had some crushing on the corners and LOTS of tape on it, but all the parts and pieces appeared to be new and undamaged. I intend to keep it up all year. I live in northern Georgia. Some of the reviews say the tub has a tendency to leak, etc. From what I understood many of these that leaked were packed up and unpacked. While the directions say it can be shut down and packed up for the winter, my guess is it's hard on the tub and may cause it to leak. If I can remember to I will edit my review later on and let you know how it's working out. I'm VERY pleased with it for the money. It's not a hard side tub by any stretch, but if you like strong bubble action and soaking, it is absolutely amazing! Edit: So far so good. I’ve used this every day since I set it up. It definitely keeps the temperature. My inner cover has lost inflation. Trying to figure out how to re-inflate it without attaching it to the powerhead. I’ve Used a bicycle pump and a tire pump and neither of them seem to be able to pump it up. Still loving it. November 11, 2024. Still using it almost every other day absolutely loving it. I had to add a little bit of water to it about a month in. Bromine is working great as are all the other stabilizing chemicals. If I didn’t say this before buy this now. Edit: March 24, 2025. Still fantastic! Used it all through the winter. The insulated cover kept the heat in very well. I wish the insulated cover had handles on it. It gets a bit awkward taking it off and putting it on. Edit: End of April 2025. Sad to say the control base has started leaking water. :( Apparently, it's a thing. I've drained it and am watching YouTube videos. I'll try to fix it. ... show more

  • Skeptical but Pleasantly Surprised! Skeptical but Pleasantly Surprised!
Style: with Energy Efficient Cover Size: 4-Person / Tan - Round
I had been kicking around the thought of an inflatable Spa/Hot Tub for a while. The obvious concerns being is it worth it! Are the bubbles strong enough? Will it get hot enough? Will it be sturdy enough to be outside? All the things that most people would wonder when looking. My situation is somewhat different in that I work full time in VA but live in PA. In VA, I stay in my 5th wheel RV – Think Glamping to the Extreme. I have a Jacuzzi at my house in PA and well…yeah, I needed something for VA that was “portable” that I could break down and move if needed – like all of the exterior of the RV (See pics). I did my research and after months of putting it off, reading review after review and filtering out those that either didn’t understand what they got or literally got a bad product, I finally bit the bullet. I had my eye on a 6 person Intex PureSpa. I was impressed with everything about it. Only problem, it was too big for where I was wanting it. I then looked at their 4 person spa – Perfect size of 77” round and 28” H (outside diameter). The main seller features that drew me to Intex are: • Solid Construction: Fiber-Tech Beam • Hard Water Treatment Buit In • Heated Air Bubbles! (most do not heat the bubbles) • Energy Efficient Cover • 120 Jets Size Concerns: I was concerned with it being large enough for 4 people, especially after looking at the pictures in the description (photoshopped clearly) and reading several reviews (other units) where people were unhappy with the size. Well, those complaining must have been NBA players, because it is plenty big. I am 5’7” and when sitting, I cannot reach the other side. I have the water ¾ between Min and Max and to reach the other side, I literally must stretch out fully. My wife is 5’3” and I ordered a seat for her, or she would have to sit on her feet. Motor Noise: The other item I heard repeatedly was the motor noise. I included a video of the unit powering up. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. In fact, the bubbles were louder than the motor! As for the motor, it is plenty strong for bubbles. Again, see the video. Now, right now in VA the temps are 70’s. I keep the temp at 104 degrees (Max) and with the inflatable insert and insulated cover, it maintains that heat easily. It was 65 degrees one night when we got in. The bubble will run for 30 min before turning off. Even thought the bubble are heated, the temp does drop some in use. Starting at 104 and running for 30 min, then temp only dropped 4 degrees in the 65 degree temp outside. I can live with that. Options: The unit I purchased included: The spa, motor, inflatable top insert, insulated full cover (goes all the way to the bottom of the tub and is fully insulated), a round heavy duty bubble wrap type mat the tub sits on, hose to inflate/deflate the spa, small chlorine ball, two filters, test strips and a heavy duty bag to store it in when stored for off season. I purchased some other things that I also highly recommend (pics included in review): • Hot Tub Mat for Inflatable Tub, 77IN Hot Tub Pad Foundation, Upgraded Thickened Eva Foam Padding – ½” thick foam that when added to the include mat above, make for comfortable sitting. • Intex 28500E PureSpa Attachable Cup Holder and Refreshment Tray – A must for relaxing with drinks. I bought two. • Bestway SaluSpa Underwater Durable Non Slip Swimming Pool and Spa Comfort Seat with Adjustable Height Legs and Weighted Feet – Perfect for my 5’3” wife. • SaluSpa Padded Pillows (2-Pack) – honestly, I could have done with out these, but if mama ain’t happy…. So yeah, we have two. Setup: Setup was relatively easy despite the instructions being a little vague on some things. Because I have it at my RV and a tankless water heater, I used warm water to fill it, speeding the heating process. I set the unit up late one night and it was fully heated in the morning when I woke up. NOTE: READ INSTRUCTIONS on Dos and Don’ts! Overall Review: Again, I was skeptical about how effective these inflatable units would be. I would absolutely buy this again! It is solid construction, quiet, well insulated and has surprising power for a 110ac unit. Do your homework, research, compare. This unit fit what I needed, and I am very pleased with it. Your situation may be different. It comes in a single package that is roughly 110 lbs! Mine arrived in perfect condition, but I read several reviews where they arrived damaged. Like any product ordered, if it comes in damaged, check it carefully or reject it completely. If you have never owned a pool, spa or hot tub, I highly recommend reading up on chemicals. While they are easy to maintain, they do take a little effort to keep the chemicals balanced. Best bet if you’re new, take a sample of your spa water to a local pool store to test. They can tell you what it needs so you don’t have to mess with test strips or figuring out what is needed! One Important Note: If you are used to a full sized jacuzzi and think it is the same, you will be disappointed! Those are 220v systems, so heating is quicker, jets are stronger, and they maintain a constant temp while in use. These inflatable units are 110v, so they will not keep up the heat, though they do a good job for just being 110v! ... show more

  • 1 year review! Great in summer, TERRIBLE in winter
Style: Spa Only Size: 6 Person
Beware when you purchase this hot tub. We purchased this hot tub in the winter of 2021 when Covid was keeping everyone home. It is easy to set up and we were very excited. It initially took almost 2 weeks to get to 104 degrees, but I figured that may be normal since it was cold outside. As we got into the spring months and summer, it held its temperature while you weren't in it. If you spent more than 30 minutes in it it would drop below 100 degree. This year when winter arrived I noticed the hot tub wouldn't get above 95 degrees. I made sure everything was inflated well and there was no way for the hot air to escape. The pump also started turning off randomly which caused the water to cool. It would take days to get it back into the 90's just for it to shut off randomly again. A month ago we decided it just wasn't worth the high electricity bill anymore since we couldn't get in it. I received my electricity bill a few days ago after it had been shut off for a month and was astonished at how much less energy we used. This hot tub raised our energy consumption about 30% each month it was plugged in. With the price of energy these days, that's just not worth it. My in-laws bought a Coleman inflatable hot tub at Walmart for $249 and said it works great. The water heats up quickly and it doesn't lose temp when you are in it. I would recommend looking into that one before spending your money on this one. ... show more

  • Glad I made this purchase, exactly what I was looking for
Style: Includes Energy Efficient Spa Cover; Sal... Size: 4 Person
One of the best purchases I have made. It's fun for the whole family and really is relaxing. The setup is very straight forward and instructions are very clear. The fit is exactly as the specifications called for. The quality is exceptional, no defects and I feel like the construction is aamazing. The pump blows up the hot tub using the proper fitting which is a huge help, no need to find an alternative way to fill the air up. I went with Intex because of my past experience and history using their products and of course other reviews which confirmed my own experience. I was missing the 2 inlet and 1 outlet fitting from within the spa and I called their customer support and they were absolutely amazing and are sending me out the missing parts without any hassle. Very happy with this product and have been able to use it 4 times in the past few days. The kids really enjoy it and my wife and I look forward to using it to unwind. ... show more

  • Great- but impeller rod will need replacing Great- but impeller rod will need replacing
Style: Spa Only Size: 4 Person
We’ve had our tub for just about a year now and love it! It’s exactly what we wanted without the cost of a higher end model. We put it on a 1” thick circle of styrofoam when we got it and we ran it all winter in New England (fairly efficiently) by adding a 2” circle of styrofoam over the top and covering it with an additional thin cover brought on Amazon and held down with a few rocks. Never felt a need for the headrests to tip your head forward and haven’t tried the optional seats, but I do keep a noodle in there to put under my arms for support and we definitely recommend the the drink holder that sits over the edge of the tub! We don’t run bubbles when it’s cool/cold as it dramatically decreases the water temp by adding outdoor temp air into the tub. Stays plenty warm if you skip the bubbles. Haven’t tried the trick of putting a space heater in front of the air intake yet, but read that some have had luck with that. The bubbles are great, but we save them for summer! Much as we love our tub and found it well worth the investment, it does have one serious design flaw. As long as you’re prepared to be a little handy and pull it apart and fix it periodically, it’s not that bad. It’s just too bad the company won’t fix it as they know it’s an issue. When (not if) your tub decides to throw the E-90 error code, it’s possible you just need to clean the filters but more likely the Impeller shaft in the pump has whittled down and broken. The impeller is the part inside the pump that spins with a magnet and fins. Because of the magnet the rod can’t be made of magnetic material or it won’t work. The pump comes with a ceramic shaft that will snap once it’s run long enough that all the turning finally wears the rod down and it will break. Our original lasted almost 8-9 months. You can temporarily fix this with brass (even a piece of fat coat hanger) but it is soft and will whittle down and break or bend within a month or 2). This sometimes seems to often be triggered by power outages that jerk the pump to stop and start. Sometime it just won’t start spinning again and when you try to start it up you can hear that it’s not filtering the water and the code will alarm indicating you’ll need to replace it again. After the third brass replacement I installed a stainless steel rod and was hopeful it would last longer. It did not. I took pics of the process this time to pass along as it took me a while to find enough posts and comments to figure this all out myself. The rod needs to be 1/8” round and exactly 3” long. I bought a long brass rod at the hardware store which lasted me several inexpensive replacements but I recommend getting a ceramic rod to replace it like the original. I was able to order a 12" one that I was able to carefully snap into 4 of the correct length. One pic has the remaining pieces of the orig ceramic rod, the three whittled brass ones next to two of the steel ones I tried. Okay-here are some steps and pics to fix this when you need to: Unplug unit first. Then you need to take off the filter on the inside of the tub closest to the unit and use the two black caps provided to block these two outlets on the inside of the tub from the pump unit (this will block the other filter as well so it can stay put). Then unscrew the 3 connections on the pump unit from the tub. Some water will leak but just screw the outer caps on the water outlets and hopefully it’ll only drip a little if any. Next dump the water out of the pump unit by tipping it before bringing it inside to work on (yeah, I flooded my workbench the first time). Remove the 4 screws that hold the base on the unit (you’ll need a long handle phillipshead). Then tip it sideways plug end up and from the bottom remove the pump by disattaching it at the following 4 points: unscrew the two hand rotating pipe connectors (be careful of the rubber gaskets inside), unscrew the electric cord cover then pull the cord out, and unscrew the one screw at the top. These are at the red arrows in the picture. Once the pump is wiggled out, remove the 5 bolts holding it together (some of the nuts may be glued on, some may fall out just keep track of them). Inside you’ll see the impeller fins sticking out of the pump. The rod is held in place by two rubber ends (mine have worn through at the ends but still hold a rod in place so make sure to keep them and set them in their end locations). Carefully pull the impeller out. You find the damaged rod and notice the ends not in contact with the spinning are still at full 1/8” width. Pull out the pieces and insert new rod into the shaft and wedge it into the rubber holder end. Insert the impeller over it (the magnet will pull it in fast so don’t get pinched!) and then with the other rubber end in its place in the cap of the pump, gently line it back up and screw it back together snug. Retrace your steps putting the unit back together (it takes a little jiggling to push the pump back up into its spot and again be careful of the gaskets). Screw the base back on and reattach the unit back to the tub (again, be careful if those gaskets too). Remember to remove the inner rubber plugs in your tub before starting it back up or it won’t be able to pull water and the error will go again (yeah, I did that the first time lol)! Screw your filter back on too. Anyway, hope this helps and I don’t mean to deter you from this tub- read all the comments, it’s not perfect, but if you go in expecting a fun treat that’s not terribly expensive for what it is, you’ll be very happy with your purchase! ... show more

  • Great so far!
Style: Spa Only Size: 4 Person
At the time I write this, the spa has only one review which gave it one star. I'm finally writing my first ever Amazon product review, after having read zillions of them over the years, because I think showing this thing as a one-star product is unfair. As far as I can tell, this is simply the newer version of the 28403E Intex PureSpa, with just a different, presumably upgraded, pump/heater unit. That product has 2,800+ reviews averaging 4 stars, which is what I based my purchase on. And as far as a sub-$500 purchase for a hot tub, this thing is amazing. Sure, it's not as nice as a $5000 hard sided spa--of course it isn't. But once it's set up and you're sitting in it with the bubbles on, it's really pretty close. And I had no issues setting it up and getting it to temperature. I put water in it Friday night and used it at 100 degrees on Saturday night. Used it again the next afternoon. Quality seems great so far and I'm super impressed by it. It's very sturdy and, once put together, looks more like an actual hot tub and less like an inflatable pool toy (which I was kinda afraid of). Time will tell how much impact it has on my utility bill - that's the only open question now. Also, I got the energy efficient cover for an extra $100. Looks like this one will ship to California without it (other Intex ones wouldn't; I think it's an energy efficiency issue), but I got it anyways. I won't know otherwise, but it seems to be a solid investment for the tub and isn't much of a hassle to take on and off. I'm fully prepared that this thing may only have the durability to last a year or two, but at this price I was willing to take a chance on it to have a spa on the patio that I could set up myself. So far I'm glad I did! ... show more

Style: Includes Energy Efficient Spa Cover; Sal... Size: 4 Person
Having neck and back issues I really needed this, I like it better then our old square hard shell because it’s soft on bottom and sides and allows me to stretch and float unlike the hard shell which had molded seats and trying to do any moving using would hurt when coming in contact with seating. Yes the jets and heat were better in the 230v hard shell but I much prefer this one. The jets are all around the edges and you can maneuver the parts of your body over them. Different jet system but this set up creates more of an over all message so works great for us. It’s pretty quite as far as when your not in the spa but obviously when your in it with jets running your gonna hear the bubble and water movement but no loud noise of system. We were looking for a plug & play hot tub for our patio. And we wanted a saltwater system. We live in western North Carolina in the mountains and cold & snow during winters. We had a hard shell high end 230v hot tub at are old house but too much work & money to move so we included in house sale. When we were pricing hard shell good quality hot tubs here they would run from 5k -10k plus installing the upgraded electric we would need. Even the 110v plug & play hard shell hot tubs were over 5k. Since we use other Intex products, mostly their air mattress I had no doubts about this hot tub quality. I read most reviews and tips and they helped a lot. We live in the mountains and have our own well,it test pure and there’s only a sediment filter for sand. I read about using an inline pool/spa filter that goes on hose to fill and that removes more finer particles and any heavy metals. You put the filter at end of hose going to hot tub, they suggest not putting at the hose turn on/off Spicket because it would reduce flow. Next I read about using my tankless gas water heater to fill with, that was easy, I hooked the hose to the drain outlet on the hot water side and it took about 90 min to fill and it was at the right temperature when ready to turn on the hot tub. Our old hot tub was a saltwater system which was easier then using chlorine and no strong smell like chlorine. So I choose this model hot tub because it was easy to add the saltwater generator cell. Just read all the instructions they give and it’s like a 5 min upgrade. Don’t use the little ball with chlorine if you change to saltwater or your have problems and the salt generator system uses the salt to create its own type of chlorine. Ours came with the black energy saver cover, Do not try to inflate this, this is a Self Inflating cover. There two plastic valves that are covered, just unfold the cover as best you can, open the two valve covers and it will start to take shape. We’ve had the hot tub up and running for 2 wks now and we’ve had Lows in the low 30’s and the hot tub has had no trouble staying at 104 degrees. We’ve worked out the little kinks now and very happy, we keep it to the max level and need to add a little water each week due to the water splashing over the sides, I’ve had absolutely no issues with the system leaking at the fittings, I didn’t over tighten, just hand tight. Also, I add 2 tbsp of Clorox Pool&Spa Non-Chlorine Pool Shock weekly. You can use spa very soon after. If you add water due to loss, over time you’ll need to add more salt. Get some test strips. I found that when first setting up the saltwater system and when adding salt & water if I use the non chlorine shock it helps jump start the system. Also, read the instructions carefully, you have to activate the saltwater converter and tell it how long to sanitize each day. Depending on use, I have it from anywhere from 6-8 hrs a day. ... show more

  • UPDATE: multiple updates! UPDATE: multiple updates!
Style: Spa Only Size: 6 Person
Update: 2 years 3 months from purchase... So my PureSpa tub was full of black flecks constantly and I just kept taking them out with a small net but was very confused as to how they were getting there. I eventually took it apart to find a non-replaceable piece was literally disintegrating. Contacting Intex, my tub is out of warranty now and I will need a whole new base for $350 with shipping included. Not really happy about this, but I guess everything has a natural lifetime before it wears out. Still way cheaper than buying an actual hottub. Update 1 year from purchase... Ended up purchased new pump assembly from Intex after trying to fix the degrading shaft several times. In hindsight I wished I had just paid the $40 and replaced it to start with! Runs well again. Review goes back to 4 as I love this thing but am a little frustrated with it breaking so easily. I cannot be the only one this happens to and Intex must know it too. Update: 10 months from purchase E90 errors are constantly shutting this down. This error shuts down the pump/motor (so it doesn't burn out) when there is no "flow" of water. This can be caused by several things (clogged filter, poor chemical maintenance, something blocking inflow of water from the 1 actual working filter) and I worked my way through testing and solving for each. Then the real problem reared its ugly head. After checking out YouTube videos, I decided to take the filter assembly apart to find the culprit. The pump motor has a shaft that was broken... hence the error. I replaced the ceramic shaft with a brass (must be non -ferrous!) shaft, put it back together and we were in business... for 4 days then E90 returned. I reopened the motor to find that the new brass shaft was torn apart (see pic) because the assembly itself is unbalanced. I love this thing but a new motor appears to cost $43- love to hear from Intex via this review as no one answers their phone line and their website is unusable to resolve issues. I would love to return my review to 4 stars again. Order arrived in a couple of days despite size, weight and Corona virus timing... very pleasantly surprised. Hot tub set up in 15 minutes and filled with hose over 2 hours. It did take 2 days to heat up but it was 50 degrees outside, so not surprising. All very basic and simple to do solo. Used it several times now and am very happy with this purchase. It really is sturdy and the bubbler is nice. Top fits on well with clips to keep it on during stormy weather. Heater and filter cycle on and off as expected. After reading many reviews, decided to use Spa Selections bromine tablets and crystals to keep water at a healthy level. Hey this is what it is, and my expectation is for it to last 2 or 3 years outside, but well worth the price to get some relaxation. I will update this review next year. ... show more
