Doesn’t work! I filled the tube with pool water, made sure no air was in the line or the vacuum. Hooked it all up and followed the instructions step by step. It doesn’t work, no suction out of the vacuum end, and the wheels seem locked. I took the vacuum out and tried spinning one of the wheels and it looks like one of the gears are stuck or there’s something blocking it from turning. The pool pump is rated for this vacuum so seems like the product itself is faulty.

I hooked it up, and I think I saw it move a few inches. That was it, and now I am trouble shooting the thing. Used sealant on the hose fittings, I noticed there was leakage at the hose connections. next I'm going to try running it without the internal filter screen, in case it is producing too much internal resistance to flow. I'll use another filter trap further up the line. I'll keep you updated. I think too much time has passed to return it. Update: 3 months later. June 3rd, finally got it working as advertised! I used a separate pump left over from my last pool. I sealed all leaks at the connections using some silicone glue. Good luck with yours.

I have both of the output side pool cleaners from Intex and both do a good job, I was hoping for something on the input side so it would make use of the sand filter I have. I ran across the ZX50 by chance and immediately ordered one. Set up is very easy once you realize the hose ends have a left hand thread and need to be turned lefty tighty, and be sure the included float goes onto the hose very close to the unit. This keeps the unit upright so the wheels don't get off of the bottom of the pool. I followed instructions and made sure all the air was out of the hose and unit before turning on the pump. To my surprise the pump started getting air into it somehow. It got so bad the pump was barely sucking any water. I thought maybe I missed some air in the hose so I turned off the pump, removed the air from the clear plastic filter, and tried it again. Sure enough, more air coming in just like before. I triple checked the system for any air leaks, and tested all the other suction side stuff I have and nothing else did anything like this. I spend several hours testing hoses, connections, bypassing the sand filter and chlorinator....nothing made a difference. I can only come to the conclusion that my pump is just too powerful for the unit and it is causing cavitation which will draw air from the water. It happens with propellers that turn too fast as well. Checking the manual again and the pump size recommended is 900 to 1500 gallons per hour. My pump is more that double that. I do have some smaller pumps that I will be testing my theory with this weekend. When the unit did work before the air problem stops it, it seemed to do an ok job. The balancing act on just two wheels does seem to be a problem though. It would travel to the end of the hose length and tip a little, and the wheels would lose contact and then the unit would just sit there. Granted, the hose is for pools up to 16 foot and my pool is 18 feet, so that may be why this happened. This unit has potential and I think I can make it work better for my pool with some modifications. For the average pool user with 16 foot or less and a 1500 gph pump, I would hesitantly recommend it. If you have a larger pool or one with a smaller pump, my advice would be to pass on this and get the older Intex 28001E cleaner instead.

Do not buy this crap it is worthless I've spent hours trying one of the wheels wasn't even put on wight a spring loose in the box this is my last order I'm a prime member

The bottom cleaner did work for me as my sand filter pump has 1050 pump flow rate and I use neutral (not filter) to get enough suction. It is slow and takes a while to change direction. I have 2 intake hoses and per their directions cap one of them. After running over an hour there was some air in the 2nd not used line and I would stop the process to release the buildup of air. I do like no battery to charge or electrical line. Surprised the box did not include a hook to add to a skimmer/broom pole to help pick up the unit (they warn pulling on the hose could damage the connection) I might try tieing a string to the unit and then to a floating ring, then pull out the unit from the wall using the string. (Note this unit is not a battery robot that will park itself at the side if the pool when the battery is almost dead) May have to help direct the unit to areas it missed. I have not used it a lot but may consider removing ladder so it does not get stuck. I could probably do the bottom cleaning faster with vacuum stick. This unit gives me freedom to do other stuff while it cleans. Great price.

It has an internal micron filter like a cordless robot vac, but suction driven from your existing pump. You're not sucking all that bottom junk and grit into your pump and main filter system. It scoots, sucks and filters all in one! Super easy to clean, durable, well designed, easy to use, just plug-n-play. I did use a 1.25 to1.5 hose adapter to plug it into the Hayward skimmer, but that was cheap and easy. Best of all, the price and it doesn't get stuck....I freakin love it!

I have a 18ft above ground pool and this thing doesn’t clean the bottom of the pool at all. I can feel barely any suction from the bottom and it drives right over piles of sediment. On top of that it gets itself lost for hours spinning in small circles. I would save your money
