We purchased this for a near infrared sauna we built. In looking for a short wooden stool that rotates, we were surprised to find that there were hardly any options, but we kept on looking and found this number. It arrived quickly and we were surprised at how substantial it is. I initially thought it was overpriced, but after seeing it I think it's not a bad value. It looks mostly like it does in the photos, it just seems beefier in person. There are additional small metal brackets on the underside for the legs, to strengthen them, so that's probably not a bad thing (see picture), and it doesn't take away from the look; I don't even think you'd know they were there unless you turned the stool over. If you want to take the top seat off, there are holes in the bottom seat that give you access to those screws that aren't shown in the ad photos. As someone else mentioned, it's not free spinning, which I prefer, but you can easily turn around. I purchased some tung oil (milk paint company) that I'll use to treat it for the sauna. When it came, it was not adequately packaged, but it's beefy enough that it arrived fine and in one piece. There were some minor scratches on it, but not a problem for our use and it looks like those happened before it was shipped. The bigger problem was the stickers that were all over the thing. One sticker on the top and 3 stickers on the bottom. Getting them off was tough and they left a residue that I'm going to have to sand off before staining it. That's annoying, and thankfully, I have the ability to do that. You can see in the picture where I show you with my finger where the residue is left as it's still visible. A good value stool, but enough with the stickers already. If you want to add some small metal feet, the center point on the legs is marked for easy application. I hope this review was helpful.     • Lovely solid wood stools
I bought 3 of these, and they're great for tucking under a table, putting a plant on, or using for fidgety kids at dinner. I stained and waxed them, but they're perfectly presentable unfinished. They don't spin super easily, which disappointed my kids, but is probably best so they don't make themselves sick at dinner. These stools are heavy and solid, and I didn't have any issue with legs being different lengths as mentioned in a previous review. ... show more

    • Uneven legs
I purchased 4 of them. These are nice stools except that the legs are of uneven length causing the stools to rock back and forth. It would have been 5stars if there was some sort of adjustable feet. I probably would not buy again at this price. A bit expensive.
