The inner metal (extension) is SUPER warped and the end caps are so flimsy that they fall with the slightest move! I glued the end caps and ended up putting a middle hook "to fix the warpness". If you are wondering why I am not returning them it's simple, I bought them for the side window of my garage and to cover the window of a tool shed... Do not recommend if you plan on putting heavy curtains, using the extension, OR if you want them inside the house where you will be moving the curtain a lot. ... show more

These are good looking rods, but not meant for bearing any kind of weight over a light load at full extension. My use allowed me to double them up, keeping the outer rod aligned to the inner rod for the full length of the combined rod, creating much more strength. For reference, I was able to cut these down from the original allowable length, by simply taking them apart, and cutting both the inner and outer rod to my needed width. ... show more
