Scan tools are all different and serve different purposes. Shopping for a good one can be frustrating. I went with this due to reputation, a USA based company, and the features I was looking for could not be found in the lower priced, value units. There are live features that can also help diagnose problems or assist in performing maintenance functions. Of course, there are those professional units that cause thousands and are worth it for professional shops. There is good customer support as well as their RepairSolutions2 app that can guide you to probable causes and solutions.

Big Improvment from my old innovator scanner. Needed to flush my dot 4 brakes and it helped me to do it right with 4 wheel abs . Did it and brakes are great . Also found my throttle body real dirty and cleaned it and recalibrated it and now no codes and my 2015 Taurus runs great. Was able to run test on my car which my old one wouldn’t do the koeo tests and quite a few others. My old tester did ob1 and all the adapters work with the new tester.

I do all my own work on my vehicles, and I needed a better, more up-to-date scanner, especially one that can handle the newer electronic systems found on modern vehicles. I recently replaced the rear brakes on one of my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrids, which has electronic parking brakes. You must put the system into parking brake service mode, which is straightforward. What I didn't know is that when you take it back out after everything is fixed, all the ABS settings are all confused and out of whack. My old scanner doesn't support a reset. After poring over reviews on many different scanners, I threw a dart and bought this one. It worked flawlessly, reset all the ABS and battery errors! The 5610 is bi-directional, so I'm looking forward to being able to diagnose problems better and tweaking some things on my diesel truck and my wife's Wrangler. It was easy to use, bluetooth to my phone, and has a ton of features, I probably won't need to use most, but it was worth the extra money to ensure it did everything I will ever need it to do, and prevent me from painfully bringing it to a dealer who will way over charge and not stand behind or own up to any mistakes they might make. (happens a lot more than you might think)

The 5610 is perfect for the home mechanic. With this scanner, the Innova website and Innova Customer Service support it's easy to identify and repair vehicle issues. It also does resets and relearns. Pays for itself the first time you repair a car problem without going to a shop.
