Description

The INNOVA Ford Digital Code Reader is a diagnostic tool specially designed to work with the vehicle's test connector to communicate with MCU and EEC-IV computers. It uses electronics designed to retrieve engine and transmission diagnostic trouble codes from the vehicle's computer but does not generate codes. The code reader serves as a key that links to and opens communication with the vehicle's computer to prompt the computer to perform self tests and to receive test results or retrieve codes.

As some reviewers have stated before the male pins on the reader are not secure in the plastic body and are pushed in on the first use. I ordered it knowing this would be a problem that I figured I could fix. Now that I received the product I can confirm you can split the case and push the pins back to their original position, or into the extension. ... show more

    • Basically a flash counter.
This really doesn't do anything that you can't do with a paper clip on these old Ford vehicles. It basically counts the flashes for you. Did not pull the "deep" codes that an actual OBD1 reader will. Had to bite the bullet and order a card and cable for my old Actron unit, which wound up cheaper than this by half because of the age. For basic stuff, I guess it will work. Read the instructions! It works if you follow tge procedures in the booklet for key off and then the other for key on.
