One of the best items I've gotten for car troubleshooting. This one is everything I expected plus a little more with the simplicity of the way the app sorts the faults. So far it has worked really well and has been very accurate with reading codes on all three of my vehicles. Surprised at how quickly it returns the results for a portable unit. You can save your vehicles and not have to enter VIN every time thereafter. Wasn't hard connecting to my phone once the app was downloaded. Every time I have had a warning light it has accurately given the same code result as the mechanic shop nearby I use. The fact that it lets you click on the needed parts and does an instant search at most common after market stores locally makes it that much faster to find what you need for the repair. Makes it easy to have a reference on what the potential parts could cost. Also, to know what parts are actually needed before going to a shop. The other cool feature I like is it gives the severity of fault and ratings on urgency of repair. Planning to buy another to place in my sister's car so I can teach her how to check codes and tell me what is needed before going to help fix things on her car....Perfect gift for your wife, girlfriend, or college student to make car maintenance easier and more efficient. I've been using an Innova 3211 OBD reader for many years now. However just about a month ago it began erroring every time I tried to read the data on my daughters cars, a 2003 Toyota Camry, and a 2004 Mercury Marquis. Error reading data. So i could no longer clear the check engine light, which in Illinois means, that you arent going to pass the emissions test and you have are gonna spend lots of money to fix whatever is causing the check engine light. Anyway, my one daughter had purchased this new Innova unit but had not used it yet. I gave it a try and was very happy to see I was able to read all the data successfully and clear the check engine light on both vehicles. Not sure why the 3211 is no longer working correctly, but it was worth the money back then for the 3211 and it is certainly worth the money for this new version. I highly recommend and have been a loyal Innova customer for decades.

Lifesaver with my poorly maintained 2005 truck. The vehicle was very inexpensive but without records and known lack of maintenance, it's a project vehicle. A recent 'end of life' situation was quickly resolved with the ability to read codes and make decisions. I considered the wired version but the bluetooth one can be left installed without obstruction. The app has almost exactly the same features with a little added and a little missing. Truck now running better than it has in the four and a half years I have owned it. This device has saved $$$ in shop costs or vehicle replacement (also MPG boost).

The Innova 1000 Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner has been a great addition to my toolbox. Setup was quick and straightforward. Pairing it with my iPhone took only a few minutes, and the app interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, even if you’re not especially tech savvy. The scanner reads and clears engine codes accurately and provides live data that’s genuinely useful for diagnosing issues. I like that it gives clear descriptions of trouble codes instead of just numbers, which makes it much easier to understand what’s going on before deciding on repairs. For routine check engine lights, emissions-related issues, and basic diagnostics, it does exactly what you need. Bluetooth connectivity has been stable, with no random disconnects during use. It’s compact enough to keep in the glove box, which makes it convenient for quick checks on the road or before a trip. I am not a mechanic and only want to have a scanner to tell my mechanic an error code if I'm far away and can't bring the car in. I used to have a scanner that I bought many years ago and for a very small price. This scanner did not identify my ABS/Traction Control problem. I did some research and here is what I found: Very basic scanners only determine engine error codes, which are standard for all cars. More advanced scanners (and this is one of them) are capable to give error codes specific to makes/models, such as my ABS problem. Still more advanced scanners can show real time data, which is used in troubleshooting. This model has limited capability in this regard. Still more advanced models can control the car, for example tell the car to open a window, unlock the car, etc. Money-wise, some scanners after one year require you to buy a yearly subscription. This one does not. Some scanners only support 1 car and require you to pay for second, third car, etc. This one does not. Some scanners are large. This one is tiny. Price-wise, scanners start at about $20 and go to about $50,000. If you are looking for diagnostics-only, non-real-time model, small size scanner that supports most error codes from most brands, this one is very good. In the sub $100 price range I found only one other device with similar specks. If you are looking for a similar device with a little more or a little less functionality and price, check out the comparison table on the manufacturer's website. Also look at the YouTube Video that compares the scanners that this company makes. All the other scanners from this manufacturer are going to be larger and non-Bluetooth. Some will have more functionality, some less. Some of this functionality you may need, some you may not. Finally, if you have this device and want to buy a used car, the owner may have cleared the error codes. Drive it for 20 minutes and plug this device. Most error codes will reappear and now you know what problems this car has.

I’m definitely not one to leave reviews, however I’m extremely thrilled with this scanner. I’ve been having an on and off check engine light on my 2018 Silverado 1500 since I bought the vehicle in 2021. Usually it only comes on during the Minnesota winter, so having to drive to Autozone or bring it into the dealership is a real pain when it’s -15° out. Getting the scanner and app set up took literally one minute. Captured everything I need from the Vehicle information to the MIL DTC and other stored codes. Some have said the dongle is cheaply made, which might be true, but what difference does it make when it’s discrete and clean. What matters is the ability to hold a connection (no issues), reliability, and that it functions correctly- all of which seem to be true. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is mechanically inclined or if you’re a cautious driver who hates the pesky orange light. You can clear codes, monitor live reports, record your vehicles data. Really a sweet tool.
