  • STAY AWAY - INLAND HAS CHANGED MANUFACTURERS
Color: White Size: 1.75mm
Inland used to be my go-to low cost filament but recently they've changed manufacturers and it's complete crap now. This white is no where as near as white as it was previously, now it's more off white. Printing temperatures are vastly different and I've been having tons of under-extrusion issues. Until these issues are rectified I cannot recommend their PLA filament. ... show more

  • It's good stuff: But check your label - I received PLA+ aka PLA Pro - NEED DIFFERENT SETTINGS
Color: Black Size: 1.75mm
So, you'll note the other reviews that say they aren't sure if this is ABS or PLA. My roll seemed a little weird for PLA - it liked higher temps, I needed to dial down retraction, I needed to keep the bed at 60* the whole print. Once I dialed in the settings of .5 mm retraction, 215c for the whole print, and the bed at 60c - it prints great. It's strong, stringing is low, and the prints come out remarkably clean and shiny. It really is a great value for the money. It does have a bit of an ABS odor to it when it prints, and other people review it say it's not PLA. One look at this small label and mystery solved "PLA+". This is allegedly the same material as eSun's PLA Pro. It's a slightly different blend of materials than regular PLA. It generally has improved characteristics. In so far as I can tell, it's melting point is a little higher, and it's "globbier", which assuredly gives it better layer adhesion but means its a little more sensitive to under extrusion and retraction. Now that I have the settings dialed in, it is a great filament at a very low price - however, I'm obligated to knock off a star since I didn't get the material I expected. The main label just says PLA - but it isn't like my particular roll is just mislabeled, as it indicates print temperature of 205-225c - the same print temps as eSun's PLA Pro. For regular black PLA, eSun indicates standard print temps of 190-220c. Allegedly, Inland (Microcenter store brand) filament is OEM'ed by eSun - so the temperatures lining up here seems to corroborate that. It wasn't until I noticed this little + sign on this little label that I realized what was going on. It's just better filament than they said it is. Tweak your settings accordingly and prepare to be pretty impressed with the quality for the price. I'll be buying more and hoping I get the PLA Pro. ... show more

  • Seemed fine at first, the more I use it the more I hate it.
Color: Black Size: 1.75mm
This is definitely low quality PLA, but it is really cheap. So cheap in fact that I think it's right where it should be quality to price ratio. I have a cr 10, so I use this stuff when I'm printing something big where the surface quality doesn't matter all that much, if precision and surface quality do matter I use Hatchbox or AIO. All in all it's what I expected and I will probably by more in the future. UPDATE: I've printed about 50 hours with this stuff now, a little under 400 grams, and I have to say, this stuff is terrible. the more I use it the less I think it's even pla, as it behaves nothing like any of my 4 other spools I have atm. Only about 60% of the prints come out acceptable, but they are INCREDIBLY weak. You end up spending about the same amount of money per successful print as with the more expensive pla's, but they turn out nicer. don't buy ... show more

  • PICTURES NO LONGER MATCH THE PRODUCT YOU'RE GETTING
Color: Yellow Size: 1.75mm
I ordered a roll of this last fall and love the color. So much so, in fact, that I decided to use it to print all the hardware I need to build a new printer. Last night, I finally killed that first roll. Perfect timing, since the new roll arrived this morning! Except... oh no. They sent me the "new and improved" formula. I don't mind printing this stuff. I've tried it in other colors; it prints hotter, but pretty much the same quality. (Note: "the same", not "better"). No, the thing that bothers me is: it's a very different color than the original formula, which is what's pictured on this page. The new stuff is goldenrod. If I were reviewing the original product, I'd give it five stars. If I were reviewing the new product, with an accurate product page, I'd give it three or four stars. But this bait and switch is unacceptable. ... show more

  • Disappointed - nice color
Color: Orange Size: 1.75mm
I am disappointed in this roll of Orange PLA filament. Unexpectedly brittle, broke during printing. When I first loaded it into my printer, it snapped about 300mm in (bowden tube, not even to the hot end yet). I figured that was just a bad bit, pulled it out and fed in some more. Feed in like a champ. Started a nice sized (200*200) tool box half shell print. Filament snapped again probably about a meter or two in. Amusingly, it snapped just before reaching the filament runout sensor just outside (60mm) from the extruder drive. I just decided (after setting the roll aside for a week) to despool (take off) about 4 meters or so of the outer layer, hoping it is just an issue with it being overly dry. I now have the rest of the spool in the printer trying the same print again. While I am waiting, I decided to play with the despooled bit. Just playing along with it, I would put a 90 degree kink in it with my thumbs about every 40mm. For the most part it just formed a solid tight bend. Every so often it would bend with little jagged cracks, but not break. I got about 4 meters along it and then suddenly it snapped like a dry twig. I kept going down the remaining part and had no more breaks. Still crossing my fingers that it was just a bad end of the roll. If it breaks again, then it will get tossed out. This is the first roll of anything I have ever had fail this way. I have run 20 or 30 spools across two different printers and have not had any issues from a filament. Outside of that, it does print okay. The color is 'orange'. I was hoping for a more brilliant 'safety' color, but this in fine as a high contrast color for things I want visible at a distance if they are dropped (such as a small electronics tool box). I have no problem painting something I print, it is just nice to not have to for something that can look like a plain old print. Pro: - Nice color Con: - Brittle so far before hitting hot end to print. ** I'll update this review if something worthwhile happens. ... show more
