Perfect compressor for the money. It has a low volume single stage pump powered by a 220v 3 HP motor on top of a large 60 gallon tank. You get the advantage of a large supply of air without paying for a high capacity two stage pump. It's a perfect combination for a small footprint stationary solution when a continuous large volume of air is not required. It ships bolted to a pallet where you will need vice grips and a wrench because the carriage bolts on mine were over tightened. I'd recommend two persons to rock it off the pallet as it's top heavy however, I managed to do it myself. For occasional garage use this is a decent compressor. It CANT keep up with a DA Sander from Hobofreight that’s kinda sad. The intake filter actually melted off during continuous use. If you rig up an after cooler it does keep the air dry.

I had been shopping for a compressor upgrade for my garage to use air tools and paint a few projects I'm working on. The minimum needed for spraying cars is 60 gallons. This fits the bill. I chose IR because its made in America and if something happens to the unit, I for an IR sales and service place 5 minutes away from my house...great! All that and the fact that the price fit my budget and free shipping! Well for that great price...the order takes a month which gives you time to make room for this 300lb piece of equipment. As I'm writing this review, I jus received the compressor yesterday. Beware that if u have it delivered to your house you will have to pay depending on the shipping company an extra fee for it to come on a truck with a lift gate. That being said, CCX was great, they kept in contact with me and the unit was delivered exactly when the said it would be here. It arrived wrapped in plastic inside a very sturdy cardboard cadge bolted to a shipping palet. The driver helped me get it inside my garage. On the palet its actually pretty easy to move around but is top heavy. I now can spend my weekend pluming my air system and wireing a plug to this thing. It dosent come with a plug and is reccomended to hard wire it in but I'm gonna have multiple uses for my new 220 outlet so a plug is necessary. Please order the start up kit, it extends the warranty and u need the oil and extra air filters. I'm sofar totally satisfied with my purchase...can't wait to fire her up! ... show more

I INSTALLED THIS YESTERDAY AND THE MOTOR FAILED TO START , A QUCK CALL TO IR AND A NEW MOTOR IS ON THE WAY THIS UNIT IS GOING TO REPLACE A VERY OLD IR COMPRESSOR THAT NEVER FAILED ME DURING THE 20+ YEARS I OWNED IT.

I'm in the process of building a kit car in a one car garage. I needed a powerful enough compressor to run a DA sander and paint sprayer, which can be air hogs, but take up little floor space. Cost for performance, you can't beat 10.3 CFM @ 135 PSI in a vertical package. Be advised of a few things: 1. This unit uses 220 volt power, best to hard wire it in. 2. Order the start up kit, you need the oil, and you get an extended warranty from IR on the pump. ... show more

What did I do before I had this compressor? This baby works great and what a great price from Northern Tool. Free shipping cant be beat. I poured a concrete pad in the corner of my garage and sank some bolts. Threw the IR up on it and nutted it down. Its a little loud but nothing that you shouldn't expect.
