I used these boots for numerous days of walking and hiking in Peru. They were even comfortable enough for sitting in the airplane for an overnight flight. There was not much of a breaking in period needed. The only time that I found them to be a bit slippery was on smooth tile surfaces such as in a restaurant or bathroom. I climbed up Machu Pichu with them and up many uneven large stone steps. I recommend that you order at least one half size larger if not one size larger and that you pair them with medium weight merino wool socks and the orthotics of your choice. Using orthotics with arch support will pull your toes up and away from the ends of the boots. They are waterproof and still look great after traversing through dusty and dirty areas. The laces and grommets allow you to easily adjust the fit. Comfortable, perfect for all season wear, great traction, attractive, not too “glommy” looking, suede leather, waterproof, suitable for medium width, durable - all of these apply. I never thought I could buy such good sneakers at such a low price. They are very comfortable to wear, the soles are non-slip and not too hard, and you can feel the shock absorption when walking. The color is also very nice. Ankle Support is very good.

I like Columbia hiking boots because of their comfort level. The footbed is like walking on pillows. I am on my feet for long periods of time and these are better than other hiking boots out there. They keep you feet warm. They also provide good traction on most surfaces.

    • Just too short and wide for me
I like the look of these boots and was hoping for a good fit. they felt lightweight and comfortable but I have a narrow foot and these only come in a medium. I was hoping to make up for the extra width with insoles and thick socks but that was just a no-go they ran short and a little bit on the wide side at least for me. I think if you have an average foot and you can size up a half size if needed they would be great.. ... show more

I ordered these boots after failing to find a pair that fit perfectly in the store. I’m an Amazon shopper but never for anything as specific as this. Nonetheless , I thought to myself - what’s the worse that can happen; if they don’t fit or you just don’t like them., Amazon makes it easy to return. Well, not only were they a perfect fit but the price couldn’t be beat. These boots are simply, perfect for me. They’re cut just right, so you have a comfortable range of motion, without losing the needed security around the ankles. The perfect amount of room in the toe box ( I sized up so I could wear thick socks without compromising comfort). Well padded on the inside too. These boots surpassed expectations, and best of all - they were delivered 15 minutes before we had to leave! I’d already resigned myself to wearing sneakers if they didn’t arrive in rime, but to my surprise, at the 99th hour, there was a knock on the door, and I opened to find my package… YEESS 🤩. Day 1: Wore them around the house for a couple of hours They run true to size and adjusted well to my feet. Comfortable arch support. Little or no breaking-in time. Day 2: Wore them for an entire day of errands, including a 2-hour excursion through Cosco. They remained comfortable Day 3: The real test came when *I wore them to work on the very rocky terrain in my large yard that is landscaped mostly with rocks of varying sizes rather than grass. They provided the stability I needed, and the balance assistance that I wanted. They are well constructed, sturdy, and about as attractive as a hiking boot can be. I purchased these boots for a trip to the PNW and only brought these shoes for the whole trip. They were perfect for hiking, strolling and went with all my casual weekend adventure gear. They look great, feel great and are obviously well made. My only complaint is that with thicker socks, they are aaaalmost too snug. I am typically between a 9 and a 9 1/2. I bought the 9 but probably could have sized up half a size. They are still comfortable enough though with regular socks that it is not at all a problem. Have had these for a full year, they are super comfortable, neededbery little to to break them in, kept my feet dry and and they worked out great..... until I walked through a drainage ditch and the water went up to my calves and my feet got soaked about three weeks ago. Since then, these boots don't keep my feet dry. I wear them in the yard with morning dew damp grass, and my feet are soaked. I am considering getting a second pair, but worried the same thing will happen. ... show more
