Description

Our 20V MAX Corded/Cordless Air Inflator can run on any one of three power sources for maximum versatility: 20V MAX battery, 12V DC, or 110V AC. Use it on the jobsite, or on the go. It features a high-pressure rubber hose for durability. The threaded chuck and included onboard accessories make it easy to inflate items from tires to footballs. Setting desired air pressure is simple with the digital gauge, and the auto-shutoff provides accurate inflation. The high-volume hose allows fast inflation of mattresses and other inflatables with the push of a button. Move the hose to the deflation port for quick and easy take down. An onboard LED light helps to provide illumination in dark spaces. Heavy-duty rubber feet help reduce walking while in use. Battery, charger, and AC power adapter sold separately.

    • Good Dewalt 20V battery compatible tire pump and air blower, does nice job over most portables.
I've gotten some of those portable cordless tire pumps, but they either run out of battery too soon or take too long to inflate my car tires. A lot of them are off brands that while they have a detachable battery it's hard to find or not worth getting an off-brand spare. While as a Vine reviewer I have tested a few of those, and they are OK. I wanted something more robust with easy to replace readily available batteries. I knew Dewalt was a popular brand that makes many cordless tools that I use. I noticed this didn't come with a battery, but I have plenty that fit the bill, so I didn't have to worry about having ready power. Additionally, it's very powerful so standing outside on cold days inflating the tires is going to cost me less effort. This is a very simple device to use, not a bunch of selects like some chargers have with various pressure metrics. This uses PSI, plus there is no selection for a lot of different vehicles or tire applications, just a choice between inflation a blower. The two sides of the device have wrap arounds for their use. On the left facing front is a rubber high pressure cord with a fitting for tires. On the right side in a larger diameter flex hose for just blowing air. The display allows you to select tire or air which has a simple for a gust of wind. When blowing up a tire, a simple dial allows you to set the frequency, and the pump stops when it's reached. Inside one of the side panels is a cigar lighter cord and plug in to use for connection to your car battery as a backup via the lighter port. So, you can use if the plug in battery is dead, or you don't have one yet as it is not included. Dewalt 20V batteries are available in may sizes, and I like that I can put a bigger long lasting one to refill my tires without recharging in-between. Unit is not as light as the smaller ones but much more powerful and has a convenient carry handle. I when connected to a tire it will inflate it faster than most of the portables, and you can just sit it down as the connection hose is long enough to reach. Recommended. ... show more

    • A must-have if you are out late at night! (And a great complimentary piece for DeWalt 20V kits!)
As a newspaper carrier, I'm often driving along the very edge of rural roads and turning around in quite a few dead-end roads. An unfortunate consequence of this is that I often pick up nails and screws in my tires. The You-Know-What Disease reared its ugly head, and my local Walmarts closed their Tire and Lube Express sections to put the two or three techs they had onto deep-cleaning duties, rendering my Road Hazard coverage useless for over a year. Other tire shops around me were requiring appointments, with two or three week delays before I could get in. I was left with no other choice but to visit the local gas station air pump... But some horrible people keep stealing the air chuck off the line, and in winter time the lack of an air/water separator meant the pump would often be frozen. Being that I needed air twice a day, a generic cigarette-lighter tire inflator was NOT an option. They aren't built to handle heavy use, and I don't like drawing so much amperage from puny cigarette lighter wiring to begin with. I already owned a DeWalt 20V tool package, and had added a nice impact gun to the collection, and I'm quite pleased with the quality and durability of those units. Accidentally stumbled across this DeWalt inflator while searching Amazon for options, and I jumped at the opportunity. Sure, the purchase price is a bit steep, but I was willing to give it a shot considering how pleased I was with my other DeWalt items. I do NOT regret my decision at all! The DeWalt inflator is absolutely worthy of wearing the DeWalt name. I've certainly put this compressor through its paces, fat SUV tires, skinny car tires, wheelbarrow tires, riding lawnmower tires, and it handles everything I throw at it with no problems. The air chuck threads onto the valve stem, instead of the lever or clip-on versions found on cheaper units. Maximum pressure can be set in 0.5 psi increments, and the onboard gauge is +/- 0.5 psi from my beloved (and expensive) Brookstone analog gauge. The built-in LED flashlight is a handy feature, helping you find the valve stem in the dark, or to see your lug nuts and check your jack's position in the event a tire change is necessary. It's not bright enough to go hiking with, but it IS usable. The unit has a bit of heft to it, but that weight seems to translate to quality because this little guy simply works whenever I need it, with no hassle and no indication that it's ready to give up yet! When inflating low-pressure tires, like lawnmower tires or wheelbarrow tires, the air compressor inflates at a slower rate. That's a nice little detail that most manufacturers wouldn't even think of. Higher pressures have a slight "soft-start" which is also a nice little detail. The compressor is compact enough to fit in smaller nooks and crannies of a car's trunk or SUV's cargo area. I can tuck it under the wheel well of either my car or my Jeep to keep it out of the elements while it works, and that's quite convenient. Perhaps the only negative I can think of is the lack of a cover to keep the "pool/beach toy inflator" accessories from falling off. It's such a tiny ding against an otherwise-excellent product that I can't even justify lowering the rating for that. ... show more

It wasn't obvious to me that this inflator comes with the necessary adaptor to power from a vehicle 12v jack. It does, meaning this is a great inflator to ride around in your vehicle without worrying about battery maintenance. That said, the fact that this works off of standard DeWalt 20v batteries is my favorite feature. It's so nice to have a solid air pump that is completely cordless, whether I'm walking around topping off equipment tires or pumping up a residential well pressure tank, or pumping up a raft at the beach, or that hypothetical something half way up a forested hillside, or on top of a roof, or anywhere that running an extension cord or driving a vehicle close would be a headache. Just pop in a battery. No wall adapter needed. No 12v requirement. Battery runs out? Swap it for a fresh one. My other favorite feature is the auto-stop. Set the pressure you want, push the button, focus on whatever you want until it's done. The DeWalt DCC020IB tool is made in Vietnam, accessories made in China. ... show more

    • Great unit for your portable air needs
I put this through the paces this weekend. I blew up 6 tires to 35psi, which were completely flat and it didn't use much battery life. I then went on to blow up an air mattress to see how the attachments preformed and it worked wonderfully! The unit is a little lighter than my Snap On inflater, which is designed for tires only. I'm not sure if the DeWalt unit would hold up to the abuse in an automotive shop where I work at but, it has more than met my expectations for home use and is much simpler to use and more versatile than my Snap On unit.
