This pillow is soft and comfortable. The blue is a lovely shade too. The zipper is quality. I got it to use for my dog who has megaesophogus (esophogus won’t push food and water down). It’s important dogs with that diagnosis keep their heads tilted upward. So I removed the inflatable part and stuffed it with polyfiberfil. Then it made it a very soft cushion for him to wear 24/7. I took off one star for the sizing. The small should have been the right size but the medium was a better size and it also gave a wider area out from the neck (if a dog is using it for recovery, that width would be important too so he can’t reach the stitches). In my dog’s case the small was too snug and the width of pillow out from his neck was too short. My dog’s neck is just 7” around also so the small should have been perfect. So we have the medium and I think if you are inflating it, you’d inflate it a little less to make sure it fits then. In my case, we doubled over the Velcro and will find a friend who can sew to fix it down to size. Seller, please make a size between small and medium please! Anyway, for the quality and softness, I decided to go ahead and get a second one despite that we’ll have to fix it to make it fit. I went through 2 other e-collars before I purchased this one. My dog was able to remove the others, so I knew I had to find something more effective. This e-collar had good reviews on Amazon, so I bought one. While my dog was still able to barely reach the bandage on her tail (she had to have a cyst removed surgically), she definitely couldn't get the collar off, so she was unable to remove the bandage (with the other two e-collars, she completely shredded the bandages and I had to re-bandage the wound). One thing that I will advise if you buy this collar: make certain that you blow it up completely. If you don't blow it up to the point that it's hard, your dog may still be able to reach whatever you're trying to prevent them from getting at. This collar has a two-part valve stem. One part is so that you can quickly release the air in the collar. The other part is so that you can blow air into the collar without losing the air that's already inside. This is absolutely necessary and while it took me a little getting used to, I'm so glad for the feature. My dog tried time and again to use her hind legs to scratch the inflated collar off, but since it's both attached to her regular collar and has a velcro closure under the dog's chin, it's virtually impossible to get off once adjusted appropriately. I highly recommend this collar. If my smaller dog should require one, this is the one I will buy in a smaller size. ... show more

I bought this donut for my golden retriever who just had been neutered. It seemed great aIt first, but he managed to take it off during the night. I even put his collar thru the loops the donut provides. Twice the air came out and I can't fathom how that happned. It wasn't anywhere near his mouth or where he could reach it. I am very disappointed because it looks so comfy, its soft, but for my dog, it just didn't work. So, I'm on my way shortly to buy the cone of shame. Not looking forward to it. ... show more

I ordered size large for my 22 lb terrier. It was too big for him and he slipped it off and chewed it up. Didn’t last 1 day. Also….his body is long so even with the donut on he could lick his stitches and he did. I Had to go back to big plastic one unfortunately.

It keeps my dog from licking obsessively. It is so well made. The fabric is soft. The Velcro holds great. So far after many months it has not lost any air. The size was perfect for my 23 lb. Dog. It is very easy to hand wash. Thanks to the manufacturer for selling such a wonderful product.
