Features

  • Low-profile design: Because todays compact cars offer less space, the Infinity Reference Subwoofers are designed to fit into small enclosures. Theyre slim, sleek, stylish, and dont sacrifice on sound.
  • Harman-proprietary SSI (Selectable Smart Impedance): Unlike most dual-voice coil woofers, which provide either 1 or 4 ohms or 2 or 8 ohms, the Infinity Reference Subwoofers give the listener 2-ohm and 4-ohm, providing the two most often used impedances.
  • Frequency response 27Hz -175Hz: Your audio is filled with delicious sounds. Unfortunately, youre not always hearing them all. With lows that dig down into the depths of 27Hz, youll hear the low-end frequencies youve been missing.
  • OEM-level reliability testing: Infinity tests every speaker to the same rigid specifications as automakers, subjecting them to extreme conditions that break lesser speakers. We freeze them, blast them with ultraviolet light and drive them at full power.
  • Peak power handling: 1000W, Nominal impedance: 2 ohm or 4 ohm, switch selectable, 92dB Sensitivity

Description

The 1200S is Infinity’s latest Reference subwoofer offer incredible installation flexibility. Their low-profile design allows them to fit perfectly into even the most shallow of enclosures great for today’s compact cars. Polypropylene woofer cones deliver exceptional bass response at frequencies as low as 27Hz. But what makes these subs really stand out is their Harmanproprietary SSI (Selectable Smart Impedance), which allows the subwoofer to present the amplifier with either a 2 or 4 ohm load at the flip of a switch.

  • Shockingly good sound
Used this in a custom made box I built to fit under the seat in my 2019 Ram 1500. I am powering it with an AudioControl 1.800 in 4 ohm which gives about 500w RMS, although I have the gains barely turned up past half way. I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound. It is clean and clear, and hits harder than I expected it to. The box is built to the internal volume specs that Infinity provides, but as you can see, is a complicated shape to fit the various contours under the seat. The main part of the box is also lined with sound deadening (Stinger Roadkill). Would highly recommend if you listen to rock, alternative, acoustic, but likely won't put the door rattling bass out that those who listen to rap or techno are looking for. ... show more

  • Quality
I reallt apreciate the overall build this has for the price. I also apreciate being able to select / change the impedance. It's not insanely loud but can be more bass then I want at times which for me is perfect as I'm not an insane bass head. Fits perfect in my Infinity Q50 with a Infinity 5 CH amp. ... show more

  • Super sound quality for the money
I installed this sub in my 94 Chevy Silverado extended cab. The sub is installed in a down-firing sealed enclosure that fits the exact cubic inch size recommendation by Harmon. I seriously am amazed at the response and clarity of this sub. I am using it with 4 Polk Audio DB series 4 x 6 inch speakers and a JL Audio RD900/5. 2 key things to note. 80 to 100 hertz is perfect for a low pass frequency range on this sub. Harmon recommends 80...it will hit much lower ranges just set your slope to a mild setting and you will be surprised. 2nd thing is power. I am running this at 2ohms...pushing about 500 good watts to it. It's super sounding and PLENTY of bass for anyone looking to produce solid sound quality. If you are a bass head you might look elsewhere, that being said it does surprise me with its range and low response. JAM ON PEOPLE!!! ... show more

  • Published rating is in peak value, not rms. This is a 250w rms sub.
This speaker is absolutely one of the best I’ve ever owned! Sound quality is premium and it’s switchable impedance eliminates the guesswork of figuring out if you are putting it to its optimal performance. My only disappointment is that it’s advertised rating is of peak value and not rms. An excellent value for the money with clean, deep bass and a shallow profile for limited space applications. ... show more

  • Wow.. Crazy bass!
For the price, I am mindblown. If you need a shallow mount sub, buy this one. I am running my two in 2 ohm config from a 1600 watt pioneer amp. I'm almost 40 and I think this is one of the best sounding audio setups I've ever had in my life. While it won't win bass competitions (not what I wanted) it keeps your music sounding as its intended. i.e. Rock music doesn't shake drowning out guitar solos etc. ... show more

  • Missing mounting hardware
Haven't hooked them up yet, but that's because they didnt come with mounting screws or any wiring. The wiring I sorta understand but not coming with mounting screws its pretty crappy. Anyways I'll update on sound when I get the rest of the hardware

  • burnt out in 3 months
Spend the money on a Rockford 12 " shallow sub with DVC to get 2 ohms . It hits way harder and can handle 400 RMS easy. This infinity is a mid grade sub . If you smell burnt tires you've roasted a coil. Game over

  • Doesn’t disappoint
OMG this Shallow Subwoofer is a beast, paired with an Infinity Reference 600.1 and installed in a vented shallow mount enclosure, very loud and the bass is deep, you may not win any bass competitions but it will hold its own, I have it installed in the rear of a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited facing the front, it is also surprisingly top quality at the value it’s being sold, if I didn’t need the 3rd row seat I would definitely purchase agian ... show more
