Very happy customers since 2019. The Infant Optics DXR-8 came highly-recommended by friends, and we agree! Excellent product, and customer service. We liked the high quality of the night vision, and option of adding a second camera. Our old 2019 unit went to Grandma's and we bought a new DXR-8 in 2022 when kid #2 arrived. Our new unit had some issues after a few weeks, and customer service responded promptly via email (within hours, on a holiday!) helping troubleshoot, and ultimately replacing the unit.     • Good, but a few tweaks would make it great.
We've been using this monitor and multiple cameras for over 5 years. Overall, we've been happy with it. Here's the main highlights: Good: - Range is pretty good. I assume having the external antenna helps a lot with that. We have one room in the opposite corner of the house it doesn't reach, but he's older now and doesn't need "real-time" monitoring. - Auto-scrolling through multiple cameras is great. - Sound quality both ways is great. - Picture quality is good enough. I've seen better, but this is really a low concern for us. The average video quality probably helps with range anyhow. Improvements we would make if we could: - Ability to turn off monitor lighting. We pretty much never have it muted, so we don't need to see any external lighting. My wife like black hole darkness while we sleep and the lighting is too much (we've taped it over). We also use noise makers in the kids' rooms, so there's always some sort of light on because there's always noise. - A timed mute. This would be so awesome, I'm surprised no one has it (as least as far as I know). We put the kid down and he starts crying. Well, I'm going to give him 30 minutes before I try to comfort him to sleep, so it would be great if we could mute the camera for 30 minutes and then the sound comes back automatically. - The power button is okay, but we've had it break on this monitor before, so I think it's a bit of weak link. Overall, we are happy with this monitor, but the tweaks above would make it perfect. ... show more

Purchased this as a replacement to my first monitor for our second baby. After 13 months the screen went black but still turned on and I can hear the kids. Infant optics offers a 1 year warranty but they offered me to send them the damage item and they replaced the monitor as a courtesy. The service was fast and excellent. The outstanding customer service alone was enough for me to buy from this company in the future. This is a great monitor and I love how it functions on a monitor device instead of watching on an app on your phone. ... show more

    • Best safe monitor for my littles!
When searching for baby monitors I heard all the horror stories of monitors being hacked. Safety was at the top of my list. After reading several reviews, and seeing this monitor on top safety lists, I decided to give it a try. It’s been more than 4 years now, and we are very happy! The monitor can go quite a long distance from the camera with the antenna up. Sound is great, and I love the talk feature! Unfortunately our first monitor stopped working, and since it had been a few years our warranty was expired. I contacted Infant Optics directly and they worked with me and I was able to purchase a new one 50% off! Great Customer Service and an even better product! 10/10 recommend! ... show more

    • Good, but not great
So let me start this off by saying I did not read the description well enough before placing my order. This monitor DOES NOT come with a battery. You read that right. No battery included. For ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (!!!) you only get the monitor and charging cables. You will need to buy the battery separate. Save some money and buy an off-brand compatible battery. I had my last monitor and three cameras for 4 years before the monitor just died and would not power on anymore. It's a decent, basic, wifi/app free system. The batteries just don't last. After a few months the darn thing eats its way through the battery and you have to buy another one. I can't even count the number of batteries this thing has burned through. They only cost like $8/$9, but still it's more expensive than you think because you will go through 4 or more a year. Ultimately it does its job, but could be better. ... show more
