  • Great little incubator
This is a handy little incubator. I was able to source some fertile eggs to try it out recently, and while it wasn't a successful run, it wasn't due to the incubator, but to mishandling of the eggs used and length of time from laying to incubating. The unit itself was good at holding heat and humidity. I laid a Govee temp and humidity sensor inside and found little variance from what the incubator was set to. The temperature held well, rebounding quickly if the lid was removed. The humidity wasn't as much a concern being in coastal south Texas. I ran the unit for a couple weeks before discarding the eggs, realizing they were no longer developing (had shown fertile upon receipt). No issues with the turning of the eggs, and like I said, heat and humidity were consistent. I'll try again with fresher eggs soon. ... show more

  • Good value, works well
Almost all tabletop incubators have inaccurate thermostats, but this one was correct right out of the box. Chances are that yours won't be if you order one, but that's just kind of the state of the technology right now -- a thermostat that's consistently accurate for this type of application would add significantly to the cost of the unit. Don't let that stop you, though -- just do an online search for how to calibrate a separate thermometer using ice water, and how to adjust your settings to match. It's not difficult, and your hatch results will be so much better than they'd be by relying on the built-in version. That being said, this is a great incubator. It's significantly larger than most in this price range, which also makes it more temperature stable. I didn't actually put eggs in it for testing as it's later in the season than I like to raise chicks this year, but I ran it and recorded temperatures and humidity for 3 days and it performed consistently -- both temp and humidity were kept at stable levels. The humidity set up on this has it's pluses and minuses. There's a small water pump built in to the lid that adds water as needed to match the humidity setting you've chosen, but it's fed by a tube from an open topped bottle sitting beside the incubator. This seems like a spill just waiting to happen. I replaced it with a clean/disinfected drink bottle with a lid I drilled to receive the tubing. I used a little silicone sealant around the tubing to make it leak proof and that worked really well. Otherwise, the water pump worked well and maintained humidity without difficulty -- just keep the bottle topped up as needed. The alarm goes off anytime the humidity is off by 10% or more from your chosen setting, so if you prefer to dry incubate you may need to step it down over time rather than setting it low to begin with. I typically incubate at 25-35% until the last 3-4 days when I bump it to 65% for hatching. The incubator was able to maintain both these humidity levels, though I did add water to the tray to bring the humidity up. I suspect it would have struggled to raise it that much in a reasonable amount of time. All in all, I'd highly recommend this one. It's very consistent and easy to work with, allows great flexibility in egg sizes (even within the same hatch), and is an exceptionally good value. ... show more

  • WONDERFUL little incubator with great features! WONDERFUL little incubator with great features!
innhom Incubator with Egg Candler, Auto Egg Turner, Temp & Humidity Control for Hatching 18 Eggs, Hatch Day & Rotation Counter, Auto Water Refill, 2 Size Egg Tray, 360° Viewing for Chicken, Duck, Quail I came across this innhom 18 egg incubator with automatic turner, temperature and humidity control, and built in egg candler. It easily holds up to 18 large chicken eggs. While it is a smaller incubator, it still has the handy features I wanted per the listing. So, I decided to try it. I'm not ready to set eggs yet, but I went ahead and ran it through a thorough testing. It will be a good run to see how well it holds temperature and humidity in preparation to set some eggs. Setting up the incubator is straightforward if you've had this style of incubator before; but if not, just follow the instructions. (Don't skip the step about installing the gear or the turner will not work.) The incubator feels just as sturdy and as well made as my larger and more expensive incubators. The fan, turner, and candler all work flawlessly. The water bottles fit well and function perfectly. At power up, the temperature rose quickly to 99.5° F. The humidity rose rose a bit more slowly, but it didn't take long to reach the percentage I was looking for. (Note: If you use warmer water, it will reach stability more quickly.) Be sure not to squeeze the water bottle as too much water will go into the reservoir and you may struggle with the humidity level for a day or so. I put a mini thermometer/hygrometer in one of the outer egg slots. It showed a slight variation, but this can be attributed to the fact the incubator reads from the middle and the mini was towards the outer edge. The built in candler functions very well. It's nice and bright. The incubator worked perfectly through the test, maintaining the temperature and increased humidity. The clear cover makes it easy to observe what was going on inside. I like the "turn timer" feature, too. It gives you an indication of how long it's been since the last turn and how long until the next turn. I unplugged the incubator to simulate a power failure. When I plugged it back in, it had kept its settings. Very nice! I didn't have to try and reset anything. I added the second water bottle to simulate lock down. Once again, the humidity rose fairly quickly to the appropriate level. Cleaning will be a breeze. This incubator is easy to disassemble and reassemble. I like how easy the control panel removes from the cover. This incubator also has an audible alarm. I admit that I failed to test this feature and didn't think about it until after I broke it down. Although I may never use it, it's nice that it came with a tray for larger eggs. This is a really good incubator. I appreciate all the thoughtful included features. This is just about as hands-off as an incubator can be. So simple and works wonderfully. There isn't anything that I would fault. Up to this point, I'd recommend this little incubator to anyone! If you decide to purchase this one, I think you will be very pleased with your investment. ... show more

  • I experienced a very high hatching ratio
Excellent choice for my small farm! I believe this is one of the greatest incubators that I have ever owner, it can be used for different species and that's a space saving great deal in a small family farm like mine. We farm for our own consumption, so this is a great way to be able to grow a bunch of birds all at once, I have to say that the hatch ratio is very high. 8/10 hatched and survived, so excellent in my opinion, I have experienced a way lower rate in the past so when I came across this incubator and experienced such a bounty, I was surprised, this will be my new and only incubator in the near future, 100% recommend it! ... show more

  • Brood Boost Box
Plugged in this egg incubator last week to hatch some chicken eggs from our backyard coop, and it's turning them auto without me flipping every few hours, keeping temps steady through the night for even development. I peek through the clear window with my son, using the built in light to candle and spot veins growing, turning it into a science lesson like biology experiments in video games we play. My wife checks the humidity levels after adding water, and it's quiet enough not to buzz in our kitchen setup. One batch showed high hatch rates, but overfilling the tray can splash when moving it. We joked it's a egg nursery from futuristic farms in anime, nurturing little chicks. Why did the egg go to school? To get egg ucated! Suited for small home flocks in garages or counters, though clean the vents often to prevent buildup. It's thrilled us with peeps emerging, adding life to our family projects. ... show more

  • Fun to use incubator for beginner with smart features
This egg incubator has been a great experience! I wanted something simple enough for a beginner and this one made the whole process straightforward. The display is easy to read and lets you see temperature and humidity at a glance. The functionality is very well thought out, especially the automatic egg turner which moves every couple of hours without needing any input. I also like the built-in egg candler which works by just pressing a button, so I can check on the eggs without disturbing them. It comes with two different trays so you can hatch chicken, duck or quail eggs depending on the size. The clear plastic top gives a full view of what’s going on inside. Another thing I appreciated was how quiet it is during use. Other than the occasional alert beep when the temp or humidity drops, you barely notice it’s running. It's also not too large, like some other incubators I've seen. The external water refill spot is really convenient and keeps the humidity stable without opening the lid. It’s lightweight, easy to set up and has worked great so far. At this price, it's a really good value especially for anyone new to hatching. ... show more

  • Good Beginner Incubator will Hatch Chicks and More Good Beginner Incubator will Hatch Chicks and More
This is a sleek and modern designed incubator allowing 18 eggs. The top display has all the features needed to get you hatching out chicks and more with minimal effort. I like it comes with two size trays for turning smaller and larger eggs. The candle feature is nice as well to check viability during the hatching process. The water bottles are a bit strange as I am used to water wells to keep moisture content but did work on the test run. We are not hatching right now coming into winter but will use this early spring to add to our chicken flock. You can set it for precise turning and then will stop before hatch. The dome allows you to see and watch them emerge from their shells which is always exciting. It works as expected just need to watch the water and moisture levels. Some tweaks needed here and there but have to with my other ones too. Pretty quiet turning. Good for the price paid more for less at the box store. Great for the beginner and more advanced hatchery. ... show more

  • User and beginner friendly incubator User and beginner friendly incubator
Some assembly required on this one- it came with a random white gear that we couldn’t figure out where it went. After some messing with it, we figured out how to open the top with all the buttons and correctly place it. There is a small sticker telling you how to align it but it’s still finicky and once that sticker comes off, there is only a barely noticeable clear arrow left… not a huge fan of this but it could be worse. I can see why this has the price tag it does- it’s very well made and user friendly. It comes to temp quickly and alarms if anything goes out of range. It really makes hatching eggs very easy as it does pretty much all the work for you. Aside from the heat dilemma, this incubator is super easy to use and great for beginners like us. It’s a great value if you’re looking for something easy without compromising quality. We cannot wait to use this (definitely did not want to be hatching eggs right before winter)! If there are any problems in the future, I will definitely update but for now, this seems pretty solid. ... show more
