Honestly I didn’t expect this table to be so good lol, when I was searching for a desk for my gaming laptop I knew I wanted a large desk and when it came I wasn’t expecting it to be actually LARGE haha. It’s enough space for my gaming laptop and a cooling pad I bought with it and enough space for my mouse when gaming. It’s sturdy and holds everything well. The appearance looks good with no scratches or broken parts. I’ve seen reviews about the height but I’m 5’2 and as long as you’re sitting the height is fine. Overall the product is good and worth it !

I have been using this for several months now, and it is really well made, sturdy, and quite functional. Previously I had purchased a different brand that was height adjustable, and despite researching and reading reviews, it was a small cheaply made, flimsy piece of crap! It ended up in the trash bin. I wanted a lap desk with a larger surface, and even though this one doesn’t adjust height, it is definitely wider than most. Turns out it’s no big deal to me that the height isn’t adjustable. I find the height to be just fine. In fact, I love that there’s plenty of room for my legs and they don’t have to be straight out with little room to adjust like the smaller one I had. I can cross my legs at my ankles or at my knee, I can splay or flare them and move them around without moving the desk. (Some reviews by shorter people have claimed it’s too high for them. I’m 5’3” and it isn’t too tall at all for how I use it.) It's great for a computer desk over your lap while sitting on a sofa or in bed. It can be a food tv tray/table for meals on the sofa or in bed. I often use it while sitting on my sofa with my legs stretched out on a big round ottoman. I can place the table legs partly on the edge of sofa cushions and party on the ottoman and it is stable and functional. (See photos for details.) Despite its size and sturdiness, it’s still easy to lift it up and set it aside to get up to stretch/go to bathroom/get something from the kitchen/etc. I also use it a lot for Zoom meetings and the height is great for that. It can also be put on a kitchen table to be at a more level angle for the Zoom camera. (A low camera isn’t always a very flattering angle! Lol) I also appreciate that the legs fold up so it can be tucked away easily without taking up a lot of space. The hinges are well made and the legs lie flat without having to be snapped in to anything. Details like the contoured front edges for comfort with your arms and elbows show that the design was carefully crafted. Everything about it says quality design and manufacturing. A couple of reviews have said it’s too slick, but I find the surface to be very nice with a slight texture to it and nothing slides around and it’s easy to wipe clean. I suppose if it was tilted at an angle things might slide a little, but it’s not designed to be tilted, it’s a flat, level, slightly textured surface that is easy to clean with a damp cloth. It is one of my most satisfying purchases in my history of Amazon shopping!

I spent a good two months reading through table listings before settling on this one and I think it was a good purchase and that the product is quality, but external factors that I hadn't considered have made it so this table didn't perform exactly how I had wanted a bed/lap desk to perform. Before I get into the thick of my review, I do want to first address that, since I haven't seen other reviews on any lap/bed desk talk about it and I think it is something important to keep in mind for some buyers (afterwards, I'll go into more detail about why I chose this desk, what I like about it, and so on). >>>If you plan to use this desk, or any lap desk with legs, while in bed and have a real soft, plush mattress that you sink into a lot when you're sitting/laying on it, this type of lap/desk table may not work the way you want it to.<<< I happen to have a very pillowy mattress and when I'm on it, I do sink down into it a decent amount, which means that the surface of my bed is, evidently, far too squishy to keep the table sitting totally flat. It also makes me sit too low for the table to be at my preferred height. On my particular bed, the table hits under my bust and tilts forward about 20 degrees or so, which means I can't safely use the drawer as a cup holder, it would absolutely result in a spill. To make it sit flat, I'd have to put something underneath the front part of the legs to raise it up about 1-1.5 inches. After I realized the issue, I thought that maybe I should have gone for a table with adjustable leg height, but I discovered that most of the tables I had been looking at had 10.6" (this table's leg height) as their smallest possible height, so that wouldn't have fixed my issue. The best style of lap desk for people who want to work in bed with a flat desk but have a very soft mattress that they sink into is the type that's a hard tabletop with a thick cushion attached to the bottom so it can rest on your legs and stay flat. If, however, you plan to primarily use this table while sitting with it on the floor, it's excellent for that. Great height and wide enough to sit underneath with your legs crossed (like criss-cross-applesauce style). Absolutely excellent choice for use while sitting on the floor, 10/10. Which that out of the way, I'd like to talk about what ultimately made me choose to purchase this particular desk and what I like about it after having used it for a couple weeks. While looking at the various listings to shop for the best fit, I discovered lap/bed desks offer a variety of features. Built-in USB ports, laptop cooling fans, lamps/lights, pleather tabletops, adjustable legs, adjustable tabletop, phone/tablet/book holders, etc. All sorts of really cool and useful extras depending on what you need the table for. I decided against most of these extra features in the end because I wanted the table to have as much versatility and longevity as possible. Adjustable components run the risk of wearing out, and if the locking mechanisms that keep the legs and tabletop in place fail, that would mean it's now unsteady and probably no longer usable. I also realized that if I chose a table with USB ports and/or a built in laptop fan that using the desk for anything potentially messy, like eating or doing crafts, could result in an accidental spill ruining those features, which is extra unpleasant considering that these qualities usually come with a bigger price tag. I wanted to be able to use my desk for all sorts of purposes and keep it around for a long, long time. This SAIJI desk feels like something that will last me a long time, so the investment of my money into it feels good. I'm not worried about it failing me in a few months and needing to be replaced. It has a solid feel to it without being excessively heavy. The company also realized that with this being a bigger model that it needs a carrying handle, so they installed a thick rope on the underside that makes it much easier to move around when folded than it would have been otherwise. Speaking of its size, this desk is of the biggest sizes you can get for a lap/bed desk and it still be relatively affordable; I got a "like new" used one for $35 (I think this normally being ~$50 is a bit much). Most of the other desks I saw of a similar size were much more expensive, but also had more features like a light and built-in cooling fan. The legs themselves are metal, which is really nice, and though there are plastic components to some of the hardware, they feel nice and thick. Like the front has a sloped plastic edge that is easier on your arms than a hard, straight edge would be, and it has an indent in the front to make it easier to pull it up against your body. The tabletop itself is made of a smooth veneer that is really easy to wipe down. I don't know if it's prone to staining yet, but I suspect if you spilled like, red paint on pen ink on it, it might stain the lighter color. Of the features this desk includes, they were nice extras that, while not things I specifically need, are useful and aren't very obtrusive if you find you won't use them. There's a drawer to the left that has a build-in slot for your phone (it's lined with red rubber to hold it securely) and it is intended to double as a cup holder (there's a tea cup icon embossed on the bottom). The drawer closes surely enough to not fly open if the desk is bumped a little, but would fly open if you knocked the desk really hard when it was full. The phone slot only holds phones at an almost 90 degree angle, which I don't like. I'd have liked it to tilt back a little more. On the right, there's some hardware that holds the included book-stand. It slides out to use either on its own with fold-out legs or by being inserted into the slot at the top of the desk (which also can hold a tablet or phone). I appreciate that the included accessory has a dedicated spot for storage so the stand and desk can easily be kept together. The book stand is nice and should hold papers and notebooks easily. I just wouldn't put any books that are too big or thick on it, like a college textbook. It is plastic and would snap under too much weight. Overall verdict: high quality and dependable item, buy a used one for less, and if you plan to use it in bed or on a sofa, be mindful that if its too squishy and soft, the table won't sit totally flat. I'm glad I bought it and am looking forward to having it for years to come.

I needed a portable desk to move to different locations around my home. Being disabled, I can’t sit in a standard chair for long without severe pain. This desk has been a great solution. It’s large enough to easily hold a keyboard, mouse, iPad, phone, and notes simultaneously. It’s sturdy, easy to move, and easy to store when not in use. A few minor things to keep in mind: It’s not adjustable. That works fine for me, but my wife finds it a little too tall, making it slightly uncomfortable. When it’s time to get up, its size can make it a little awkward to move out of the way, especially if you have a lot of items on it. I do wish it had a built-in cup holder. Setting a drink near electronics always makes me nervous, so I’d recommend picking up a clip-on holder if you like having a drink while you work. I’m very pleased with this desk and would absolutely repurchase it. If you’re on the smaller side or need height adjustments, you might want to look for an adjustable version, but this one does the job very well for what it is.

I use this thing all the time. Wow. Who knew that a portable desk would be the one item that I would enjoy so much? Seriously, I had the ones with the pads, they suck. This one? Super sturdy and super BIG. Not so big that it doesn’t fit on the couch or anything, but just big enough that you can have two laptops side by side and still have room for a paper in front. Has a handle for carrying, looks great. The material hasn’t degraded and it has been months. All in all great purchase.

This is an excellently designed and sturdy desk. I just wanted a lap desk and didn’t really think about whether a lot of intelligent design can go into one, but this has it in spades. There are 2 pull-outs: 1 for a book holder (that can go in a slot of the desk or be free standing). The other can hold a cup and a cell phone. (The cell phone slot fits my iPhone 13 pro max with a cover perfectly.) But the attention is in the details: for example the cup slot is a different material than the desk, which keeps my soda can from sliding. The fold out parts snap into place easily. I feel silly fan-girling over a lapdesk, but this feels like if Apple created a lapdesk this is what they’d come up with. Everything is simple, logical, well-designed and high quality. The reason I bought this is that it’s big. I’m a large person: very tall and also overweight. I was concerned that a lap desk would feel constricting, like I couldn’t move around without bumping it. This is very roomy. I can fit my work laptop plus a portable monitor so that I can actually have 2 screens when I sit on the sofa. The legs are at the perfect height for me, but the only drawback may be that someone who is short may find them too tall. The only design flaw is that the legs aren’t adjustable. I don’t need them to adjust, so that doesn’t bother me. The materials are very sturdy, yet lightweight. The color is a faux-wood grain brown, giving it the look of a full-sized folding table.
