I have owned 3 chicken coop auto doors this door system is the best by far. My only complaint is the screws they supplied are real cheap,the head strips out easily. I am going to purchase 2 more for Christmas presents

We recently started having chickens. We bought this door so we wouldn't have to be here to let them in and out. The pros are..easy to install, easy to program, opens and closes properly, fits properly also. Cons...our remote doesn't work, I've contacted the manufacturer and they are sending a new one,the programmer cord is too short, and when it gives the warning for them to come in it is only 10 seconds til it closes so if the chickens aren't very close by they don't make it. ... show more

We have two small flocks. One had 9 laying hens and the other is mixed flock of 13 pullets and laying hens. We are making them a winter coop and plan to utilize several chicken doors so, they can go in and out as they want and be protected from predators. My favorite feature with this door is that I can set it to either be light sensing OR to open and close at specific time, meaning I can force the door to stay open 30-45 minutes after sunset for any stragglers. For my first automatic chicken coop door, I would most definitely count this as a success. I always used to forget to close my chickens at night which would lead to some problems with the local foxes lol. This door really just takes all the worry out of it and makes my life way easier. I just set up the timer and let it do its thing. It was pretty simple to set up and use. Just screw in a couple screws were ever your current door opening is and it’s basically good to go. One thing to note is that if you have an enclosed chicken coop that is pretty dark, then the light sensor might not be the most effective approach.
