I was pleasantly surprised by these boards. They support my mattress quite well. I had been using a thick piece of cardboard but my mattress would thump around on the cardboard when I changed positions. With these boards on my bed I do not hear any noise when I move around at night. The boards come connected by strips of material in such a way that allows you to unfold them flatly in a straight line on the foundation of your bed. I laid them out on my foundation and placed my mattress over them and then made my bed. These boards work similar to the boards that you can put in a couch to keep it from sagging. When sleeping on them they kept my mattress from dipping down where I was laying on it. So I now have a straight horizontal mattress when I sleep. This allows my mattress to support me the way it is supposed to do which in turn helps me sleep more naturally. I am not sure why foundations bow like they do but these boards definitely fix that. The surface of these boards is smooth and they look like they are made of pressed board but for some reason they are much more stiff and heavy than other pressed board I have seen. I got the twin 38โ X 76โ size ones and unfortunately my foundation is that same size so I did not get to inset the boards within the frame of my foundation but they still work pretty well. I do have to occasionally push them back in on the side as a couple of them slide out about a half inch or so sometimes. But its not a problem. Overall I felt this was a good alternative to my cardboard set up. If I had chosen to use regular wood board it may have cost me more and I would have had to cut each board to size and sand them. But everything has been done for me with this set of boards. I can also fold the boards back together if I happen to move and need to take down my bed.

Ever since we got twin beds, I have wanted to get boards to support the hybrid mattresses over their metal foundations. Since the slats in the foundations are several inches apart, we put heavy cardboard over the top to keep the mattresses from sagging. The problem with that was that the cardboard creaked and allowed fine dust to sift down on the containers stored under the bed as the cardboard deteriorated. I looked at several โBunkie boardโ options, but none of them seemed like they would be strong enough or wide enough to offer the support we needed. Then these came available, and I was cautiously optimistic. This system is pretty simple. It consists of five Masonite boards held together with thick nylon straps. You unfold the apparatus and lay it across the frame of the foundation; then you set the mattress on top of that. The bed frame I got this for measures 40 inches across. Inside the frame is 37 inches, so these boards fit perfectly in width. The length of the bed frame is about 76 inches, so the boards were not quite big enough when laid flush. I had to space them out about 1/2 to 3/4 inches apart to span the bed frame. This was still far superior to the cardboard boxes we had been using before. When we tested the mattress using the boards, I instantly noticed it felt firmer and more comfortable than it had with cardboard underneath. When we first laid the boards out, I noticed a very strong smell. It was a cross between the scent of sawdust and baby cereal. It was not exactly unpleasant, but it wasnโt the greatest odor, either. We have had these almost a week, and it still smells. Hopefully, they will finish outgassing soon, and will not be harmful to our lungs. Overall, I am happy with these boards. At under $100 for the twin sized set, they seem to be reasonably priced to protect our mattresses and make them more comfortable.

This was good enough to get the job done. However, the type of material is a little flimsy. It seems like it's really soft MDF. So soft that some of the corners were falling apart by the time it got to me. There's really no installation - you just unfold each one, and then put them under the mattress. These aren't 100% edge to edge. There are noticeable gaps - but that's OK, you don't need it to be 100% just mostly in the center.

My foam mattress was developing dips where I normally sleep and this item was suggested to me by a family member. I was a bit surprised that it does not completely cover the surface of my frame, which is a standard queen frame. There's a gap in the center of the two pieces that make up the entire board. I'm not sure why that would be, and it was not an issue of ordering the wrong size. But this board does provide greater stability for my mattress than the frame itself and has made my mattress feel a bit more firm.
