I bought this item to use with my pellet stove I just installed a week ago. Be sure to check the manufacturer's specifications for the size and UL listing of a stove board before buying! According to my pellet stove's manufacturer, this size was perfect for me and the UL listing was good. Shipping did take some time but it was within the estimated delivery- just towards the end of the estimation. The top with the design is made of metal and curls under the edge of the board. The board appears to be just a laminate material. The design looks the same as the pictures and is the same color. I just liked the grey/ grey/ black as a contrast to the green of my carpet. This can be used right on top of a carpet as long as the floor is level. the top can be scratched and scrapped so be sure to not drag a stove over it. I used furniture sliders to get my stove in place but I did manage to damage it slightly nonetheless. I have noticed one thing with this board- as the stove is very heavy (over 300 lbs), sits towards the wall, and there is a fair amount of the board forward of the stove- the front corners have a slight upwards lift. The board has not remained flat. Installation did not require that the board be fixed to the floor as the weight of the stove makes the board moving nigh impossible but I think I will end up securing the front corners somehow just for aesthetics. ... show more

Very nice looking board. As you can see from the photo (sorry for the blur) they did try to package it well. Soft padded corners and tape over the hole showing what the board looks like. Plus they put fragile warnings on it for Fedex. Even still there were 4 places in which the board got dented in. Oddly enough they were across from each other on 2 sides. Not sure if this happened with Fedex or at their shop. I'm guessing Fedex. Seems like a perfect spot for their movers to place it on a bumper and cause the bending. It's simple sheet metal over the fire board so it's easy to bend if hit mildly hard. Even with that issue I am extremely happy with the board. I bought it to hold my, probably 500lb, wood stove (as seen in the photo). It works very well. The instructions do say that it's not made to protected the floor from heat but to keep the coals off of the floor. Since this is for a cabin that gets little use in the winter, I think I'm fine. Plus my stove sits about 12 inches off the floor. I plan to purchase a 2nd one to put behind it as well. That one I will use the spacers on (bought separately). 4 stars. 1 taken off for the denting and not describing that it shouldn't be used to protect the floor from heat until you read it in the instructions. ... show more

Wow...I am impressed...The side facing the woodstove gets very hot, concerningly hot...but...the side facing the wall was cool to the touch...Looks great but leave air space when mounting just in case...

Bad real bad, poorly made, cut my finger removing from the box, returned for replacement and order was not shipped on time, had to cancel and do something different. Let's say BAD is an understatement.

    • Wood Stove Heat Panel
The panel is what I expected. I am using as a floor panel. The panel came damaged on the corner and in the center. The packaging is minimal card board.
