The media could not be loaded. Even though I do a weekly cleaning with my regular vacuum I was really embarrassed to see what this little machine picked up and more embarrassed to provide a picture but here it is. I always start in the edge cleaning mode with the vacuum riding the edge with ease. It turns outside corners without problem and for the most part will take the inside corners without problem but I do have a couple of inside corners that it will not go into. (??) I next switch to the auto cleaning mode and let the vacuum go. This is a random cleaning vacuum rather than one that goes back and forth in a uniform pattern. I’m OK with this because my walkable floor space is not that much. Two attached pictures show the pattern on carpet. One shows the edge cleaning, another the random cleaning pattern. I have a few floor carpets, one is about 5/8” thick, the others about 1/2”. The vacuum rolls up onto these without problem. (Only 1 video allowed, this is it). The carpet in the bedrooms and living rooms is very thick and when the vacuum enters these rooms it speeds up and cleans effortlessly. I have only tested the spot cleaning mode to see how it works. The vacuum spins in a circle expanding outward for a few minutes then goes into auto cleaning mode. I have not used the mini-room cleaning mode. I either place the vacuum in a room and close the door to keep it from leaving or I place the included electrowall to keep it where I want it to clean, for example my kitchen area. The electrowall is a handy gadget to use. I have found it is best to place the unit about 6-8 inches out from where you want the barrier to be. The vacuum will not glide along the barrier in the edge cleaning mode, instead it sort of bounces back and forth into the barrier then takes off again. I have only tested the schedule mode to see how it works and found that at the set time it backed out of the charger and took off to do its thing. I have not let the vacuum run long enough to drain the battery where it needs to return to the charger. I do use the home button on the remote to send it back to the charger. It is important to note that the charger needs to be in a clear space without obstacles on either side. I first tucked my charger neatly into a corner and it took forever for the vacuum to locate it. Moving it to a clear wall allows the vacuum to easily return. Keep in mind if your vacuum is on one end of the house and the charger on the other end it will still take time to get home. In that case I just pick it up and place it on the charger myself. I have two “sunken” rooms and have found that the cliff sensors work exactly as expected. Cleaning the vacuum is a must, not necessarily if you are doing one or two small rooms but certainly after a whole house cleaning. The instructions are pretty straightforward. I use a very soft brush to clean the inside of the dust bin and shake out the filter. I’ve only had this vacuum a little over two months and use it 2-3 times a week. Based on the collection I find in the dust bin I believe this vacuum is worth every penny I paid and recommend it. ... show more

  • ILife A10 is awesome! Literally has a mind of its own!
Style: A10
I bought this A10 robovac (Rosie) after buying and loving their W400 robomop (Roberta). Roberta is the only mop that actually has separate clean/dirty water tanks so I got it and love it. Since I cannot mop my ceramic floors without vacuuming I got Rosie to make life even easier. If I’d known how much stress these two would have removed from my life I’d have bought them long ago without hesitation. I live alone and not in perfect health. I still work full time which exhausts me. I continually stress at getting my house cleaned up on weekends when I’m usually recuperating from the work week and it’s the last thing I feel like doing. I have 3 dogs who all shed at a different time of year and one likes to shed all year just for spite. So not even 1 week goes by before I see dust doggies rolling and swirling in the hall way or corners when I walk by. I have a lot of floors to vacuum in a house too large for just me. Felt like all I was doing was working and cleaning house. Then came the Robotwins! OMG! My friend called last weekend, asked me what I was doing. I replied, “I’m lying here vacuuming my house!” And I was! Now, sure, any appliance can always use some improve so I’m not going to re engineer this vacuum. But suffice to say I would not hesitate to get another should Rosie meet an untimely demise. However, with all these dogs and hair, I would choose a self emptier if I had a do-over. This little bin fills up quickly. And if I could re engineer one thing, it would be to have Rosie stop and alert me when she’s full. But anyhow, regardless, I just check the bin and empty frequently. There is one gripe I have about Rosie’s app. When I pause her to empty the bin, she acts like her hair changed color suddenly and she forgets everything she just finished doing. So she starts the cleaning process all over again from where she stopped. On the app map, her pathway that she’s just done disappears. That’s my main gripe. Otherwise, she’s a rock star. I can launch her easily from the app, I can tell her to clean specific rooms and I can draw a barrier wall on the map to keep her nose where it doesn’t belong. It’s fascinating to watch her roll up toward my bed, then slow when she detects the dust ruffle in front of her and without touching it, turns and goes away from it. I personally like that because there are wires under there that would get her in big trouble. If you want her to go under your bed, tuck your dust ruffle up out of her way. She seems to have no trouble over rough doorway transitions or over raised floor vent covers. If you want advanced Alexa integration, better keep looking. You can basically tell her to start and stop. That is all. The app is where the magic is. So many options. You can also create schedules. I don’t do that because my dogs would probably disembowel her if I were not home. Right now, if I could add one thing to my wish list between Rosie and Roberta, it would be for a firmware upgrade that would let me visualize Roberta’s mopping path on the existing lidar map that Rosie created. Or either a lidar based mop because Rosie now has me spoiled! I can mop and vacuum every day now if I want to! And I very nearly do! Thank you iLife for giving my life back on the weekends! ... show more
