  • I don't understand the bad reviews, this product works.
I was reluctant to purchase the ICS 680ES because the reviews were not good. That said, I only had one project in the hopper for this and it was much less expensive compared to the competition so I pulled the trigger. I have worked with chainsaws my entire life but never attempted to cut concrete. The Husqvarna chainsaw my Dad owns was always a bear to start so I expected the same with the ICS unit. I decided to read the instruction manual, they recommend five pulls with the trigger in the choke position and then pull with it in run (when cold). It started on the first time. When hot, just one pull and its operational. Wonderful! Much to my amazement, there is no dust to contend with. The water attachment works well and it is easy to regulate the water flow with the 1/4-turn valve. I cut a 45-degree angle into a street curb (about 20-feet long). Curbs are not brick or cinder block... they are much tougher. I elected to cut many small 2" thick cuts at a 45-degree angle, then used a pick axe to break the chunks free (I wore a canister breathing mask primarily for face protection but also to mitigate the face shield from fogging up, eye protection glasses, and a face shield over the mask and eye protection... which was prudent because the chunks of concrete were directed straight at my face when I hit them with the pickaxe). I had envisioned being able to cut a 20-foot long straight cut with the chainsaw on its side but that was physically impossible for me to do, and I'm not sure if the chainsaw could operate that long in that position. I did make some horizontal cuts and they went OK, but given how hard the curb was, it took too long to cut to hold that position. This product works as described. My only complaint is that the chain tightening mechanism, while reasonably easy to adjust... I was unable to get the chain as tight as I would have wanted after the chain had stretched a bit after use. I left the 1/2" to 3/4" gap recommended, but at the end of the day, it seemed a bit loose even at the max tension setting. Maybe I need to get another chain as I was using it for a good two hours of pretty consistent cutting? Long story short, I have no complaints, it works as advertised. ... show more

  • Don’t buy this!
This saw refuses to start within the first 30 pulls, and then it will randomly die and refuse to start until it is cold again. ICS will not get back with me to get anything fixed on it and it has just been a total waste of $1700

  • 50/50 chance of lemon ICS 680 ES chainsaw
I brought it the ICS 680ES less than 2 year ago and I didn't use it right away for project but storage it for 2 years without fuel and kept clean. Then today I tried to fill up best grade fuel 92+ and mix little oil... it never fire up and get flooding up quick in cylinder and mist raw fuel puke out the exhaust port. I thought the coil unit was defective and I did ordered new replacement coil and I did change it out same crap problems refused to start or running then I blew up myself angry Irish style rage threw the ICS chainsaw in air about 25 feet away from me and after 2 hrs later I did try to it start up for last time and it did start and running but only lasted 30 mins then quit working. Dead for good and waste my damn money for a thousand dollars that ICS chainsaw product made in Italy don't promised to do the great job. Not even yet did cut the concrete. Not happy with ICS company and after warranty expires you cant return or exchange it. Even I don't put more than 30 min of life time of running ICS chainsaw. So its just 50/50 chance you might got a damn lemon ICS chainsaws that don't meet your demands at job. Stihl name probably better than ICS as for 2020/2021. ... show more

  • DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$
Total junk. Buy a Husqvarna or STIHL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$. I called Sencore and they said they would reimburse me if they found this saw defective. I sent it back to them five months ago and never heard back. I am trying to get in contact with them now. What a waste!

The media could not be loaded. It's Great working fast you need to develop some skills. Use water and vacuum to clean water up. Plunge cut work from sides to botom then horizontal cut in middle then top cut. Use wedges to help take pressure off bar. When making horizontal cuts work from both sides use wedge on both sides then cut middle sections out. Make smalle sections to remove 1 foot by 1 foot. Large sections can weigh 900 lbs. Tighten chain often, losen bolts tighten adjustment screw. ... show more
