We use a lot of ice but our refrigerator doesn’t have access to a water line. Also, our freezer is too small to accommodate ice cube trays, and they take a long time to make ice. We decided to try this ice maker and are so glad we did. At first I felt like I had to empty it after every ice dump, but now I just start it and after an hour or two I take out the basket, tilt it to the left to drain out any water, and then dump it into the ice bin. It does a great job at making ice. I am spoiled by refrigerated ice makers tho and it is an adjustment. The ice does clump together in my freezer so I had to get an ice pick to break it up. The ice is smaller cubes so it does melt quicker but it works very well for a countertop machine.
