We are really enjoying our ice cream maker - trying to make a “healthier“ treat using low fat yogurt. The ice cream maker works great, but the instructions are poorly written and sometimes hard to understand. This company really should have someone proof read their instruction booklet and the enclosed recipe booklet. For the most part you will get enough information to be able to operate the unit, but some of the instructions are just downright confusing. But we are enjoying the machine - better than other ice cream machines that use a gel insert that must be chilled in the freezer ahead of time. No need for that with this machine. Just pour your ice cream mix into the machine and press start, and the machine does the rest. When it’s finished consistency will be similar to “soft serve“, I immediately put it into a 9 x 9 pan that has been chilled in the freezer and at that point mix in the chocolate chips, or raisins, or coconut. Let it freeze in the pan for a few hours, then scoop it out into your storage container before it gets really hard. We have been experimenting with different variations, including using condensed evaporated milk instead of adding the amount of sugar in the recipe, liquid eggs, and unflavored gelatin for better consistency, and we are satisfied with the results. ... show more

It's easy to use if you have a recipe. Which it does give you for a reference but you could do better. If you add spice into it, it gets stuck in the churner. The buttons are a bit annoying to push. If you get anything outside of the bucket, nothing else comes out of the bottom for you to clean thoroughly. It does work great but those are the minor things. ... show more

I bought this ice cream maker because I hated dealing with freezer the bowl and then waiting for it to thaw before being able to wash it - I don't have to worry about that anymore! This machine does it all without having to wait! I can now make ice cream whenever I want. I simply add my ingredients to the bowl and turn the machine on. The compressor freezes as it mixes. I ordered this product a little over a month ago and have used it weekly since. It is unbelievable how great it is to make homemade ice cream using it. The container is a little small at 1 quart, but you can make one quart and then almost instantaneously make another since it has a compressor and all you have to do turn it in. I wasn't sure about this when I bought it and knowing I could return it is why I decided to give it a try. This is a keeper! It makes a quart of ice cream in about 30 minutes. The motor is strong enough to keep turning until the ice cream is solid. No need to put the finished ice cream in the freezer before serving. No need to waste freezer space keeping a bowl frozen. The built in compressor is powerful enough to do all the freezing you need. No waiting in between batches for bowls to refreeze. It comes with a recipe booklet with plenty of recipes to get you started. I make a really simple, 2 ingredient maple ice cream by mixing pure maple syrup (I like a medium amber) with cream (I mix heavy and light cream) to taste. it is a trick to use " but icecream EXPANDS when it freezes " . if i could follow a recipie i would use them but i cannot pay attention for more then 2 minutes .---- 3 cups of ingredients equals 1 litre about . makes frozen youurt , french custard , sherbet , no more ice and salt .
