I really like this lightweight wooden clock that I will use as a kids’ gift on Father’s Day next month. It could be a thoughtful gift for either their Dad or my boys’ Grandfather, who is a true clock collector. This piece is made from that light balsa wood that you find on kids’ airplane toys. It is a nice, compact size that will fit easily on his desk or workbench. (picture of coffee cup included for size reference) It came with a mini gift tag for my recipient, which is a nice touch. All you have to do is hook two base pieces together to create the stand, insert a battery and you’re done. It weighs next to nothing, so it can be easily moved around. All of the words are really clear with no etching errors. I did try this out with a battery for 15 minutes and it kept time with no issues. I did notice that one of my rechargeable batteries was too large to squeeze into the battery box, and I had to switch to a non-rechargeable. Also, make sure you have the battery box turned the right way on the back so the clock balances on the stand correctly. I like how you can easily change out the battery box entirely in the future, if needed. The only thing that could make this little gift clock better is provide an option to hang it on the wall instead of on the stand. I really love the grateful sentiment expressed in the engraved words, so this little clock was a good purchase and fair value.

The clock itself is very nice and meaningful. The design and message make it a thoughtful gift for any Dad, especially for Father’s Day or birthdays. The wood is very lightweight, but the clock works perfectly and keeps time well. My only complaint is the stand. I struggled a bit getting it together and positioned correctly, and if I had trouble with it, I know my Dad would not have the patience for it either. I really wish it also included an option to hang on the wall. Overall though, it’s a simple sentimental piece that would make a special keepsake gift for a Dad or Grandpa.
