This was the perfect purchase. Modern look! The fan is very quiet even on the highest level - anyone who says it’s loud must have not installed it properly. I will say it took us some time to install, but we eventually got it all set up (and we are not handy people). The biggest reason I’m writing this review is because of the light - there are mixed reviews on it being poor lighting. We’ve had the fan for a year and thought it gave off poor lighting and for whatever reason no other bulbs worked! Welllllll that’s because it’s a dimmable light! But when you push the light button originally it’s on the softest setting. Hold the light button down and it will give off a ton of light and you should not need any additional lamps or lighting! I purchased this fan after reading the reviews and hoped that I could install it without the remote. It was a success. The fan looks nice, and it comes with 800 lumen bulbs. I purchased "Great Eagle 100W Equivalent LED Light Bulb 1550 Lumens A19 Soft White 3000K Dimmable 14-Watt UL Listed (6-Pack)" bulbs which are still allowable by the fan. I also got "Lutron Maestro LED+ Fan Control and Dimmer for LEDs, Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs | Single-Pole | MACL-LFQ-WH | White" to control the fan from the wall. It looks very professional and so far working great. Most importantly, I no longer have to find the remote with four kids toting it around the house. It is at the wall and in the room 100% of the time now. When installing, just omit the use of the receiver and connect the wires from the ceiling directly to the CORRECT wires in the fan. ... show more

Installation was easy enough. It came with a remote I didn't want to use because my fan was already wired for two switches at the wall (one lights and one fan) and I rally wanted to use wall controls. The instructions provided no guidance on how to wire the fan with out the receiver for the remote included, so I had to spend some time figuring that out. It was easy enough in the end. (wired the fan to the black wire in my ceiling controlled by the switch for the fan, and the blue wire in the fan to the red wire in my ceiling controlled by the switch for the light.) I am taking away a star for these instructions not being provided by Hunter anywhere. ... show more

    • Turns off and on every few minutes

Overall I like the fan, but it moves a lot less air than I thought it would. The issue I have is that both the fan and the light randomly turn off and then back on every few minutes. It has to be a flaw in the receiver as I know of nothing else that can do that. Update: Amazon replaced the fan and it worked great for a while. Still thought the airflow was low. I've had it for several months. A month ago, it would blink off and back on maybe once a day. Now, it does it every few minutes again. I am going to just scrap it and buy something else. ... show more

I had a professional electrician come to install the fan as I needed to run wires to the middle of the ceiling. After testing it he said it appeared defective. It wobbled at the highest speed setting. Followed all of the trouble shooting instructions including reassembling all parts to make sure everything was tight and putting the balancing weight at different locations on all three blades (tested in one inch increments). I’ve owned Hunter fans for over 30yrs and had them on remotes for nearly as long! The installation is straight forward and the remote install is has its been for nearly 20yrs now (at least.) The receiver slides/hides within the gap above the pivot ball and the top of the ceiling bracket. It’s a bit bigger than a deck of cards. The fan is much smaller, in motor size, than the unit I replaced. It’s just as powerful and equally quiet. After install the remote performed well, although it’s basic compared to the older standalone Hunter remote systems I have. The light IS DIMABLE, if you turn the light on and hold the button the light will dim down and cycle back up again, simply release the button at the desired level. Over all it’s equal to past hunters I’ve had it did require balancing (simple, even comes with good instructions) I bought 3 of these to replace in a common area that had mismatch fans. ... show more

Very well made! Quality product! Pros: Quiet, moves air good, modern look, low profile, bicolor blades (dark grayish brown OR whitewashed grey), reversible spin. The finish is not light metal like brushed nickel. Its matt medium/dark grey, which was perfect for our livingroom. Cons: Harder than average installation but doable if you're handy and have the right tools. The instructions are very precise. It came with a shorter rod but it's useless. Save yourself time and effort and install the standard rod. It will still be a low profile fan. Longer rod is not included. ... show more

    • Great fan minor gripes

I bought this fan for my living room and have been fairly impressed with its quality functionality and style. I have had some small issues. For the first month but I had it installed the light would randomly dim and then come back up about every 15 minutes. Since then I have not had that issue I'm not sure if it was a controller issue or receiver issue or my light bulbs. The second issue I have is the remote is ugly! It's brown and doesn't match anything on the fan I really wish they would have made this remote black. Third issue is the glass cover for the lights, due to the color of the glass it changes the color of any light that you put in there. I would say the best description is that it just dulls the light. I'm a fan of the 4K lights (daylight) and it seems to bring that value down. Now the good stuff is it's extremely quiet, you can program universal remotes with it or wall-mounted controls, one of the few fans that has a grayish blade, very modern not without being over the top, right out of the box the fan seem to be balanced well, construction seems to be top notch, you can program more than one remote, blades are reversible. Overall I would give this fan a 9 out of 10. And as a side note my biggest gripe is just the price point I feel like this fan should be in the $140 to $150. ... show more
