We bought this fan for our new front porch. We wanted a Hunter, because we knew and trusted the brand. All of our fans a Hunters. We wanted a ceiling hugger, because we didn't want to take the blades off with the change of the seasons. We live in northwest Minnesota, where the winters are brutal. The winds whip around the corner of the house where the porch is, so we needed a fan that wouldn't rock. This winter was colder and more windy than normal. We've had ambient temps of -25° and windchills of -45°. This fan hasn't moved! The blades spin a little, but not much! I just turned it on, and it's running like a champ after all this bitter weather! Gotta love it, I sure do! ... show more

Hey! These are fine and are very quiet. I wish they had a little more ZING to them power wise. I could’ve gotten the more expensive Hunter one, which has an upgraded motor. They do get the job done on my front porch though!

Directions were very clear. I stripped a bit more of the provided wire ends. A probe is helpful in lining up some of the screw holes. KEEP the directions! If a blade ever gets loose, you may not remember how to partially disassemble to get at the screws. Easy as long as you know the secret.
