  • Quiet, easy to install
Color: Antique Pewter Finish
Purchased 2 of these fans for my basement which has a low ceiling. They have been running on medium for 3 months ever since. They are quiet, and installation only took about 1.5 hours to do both of them. The low profile is great when you need the clearance and don't require lighting. The finish and appearance is great, and they move a good amount of air without being overwhelming or blowing papers all over the room. If you are just looking to circulate air and you don't need a fan to cool off an entire room, then this fan is for you. UPDATE: 2 years later, still doing great, no complaints. ... show more

  • Incorrect model and specs advertised but an attractive fan
Color: New Bronze Finish
The fan is attractive, although I was surprised by how large the housing was—a little over a foot in diameter. I’m not sure if the mounting bracket was bent or if my ceiling is unlevel, but one side was flush to the ceiling and the other side had approx. ¼ inch gap. I wasn’t too concerned about the gap since I didn’t figure I would notice it. My biggest complaint is the incorrect information on the listing. The main reason I chose this fan was the low profile of 7.5”, which is correct—add another inch just for the end cap below the blades. The model is listed as “low profile III” but it is actually “low profile IV.” The CFM is listed as 2,902, but is actually 2,353. I had looked at other sites for the specs but thought since it was listed as III instead of a IV, maybe it had a different CFM rating. The air output is adequate, but I would have preferred a higher CFM rating; I don’t think I’ll ever take it off of “high” setting, as I like a lot of air movement. It is very quiet and the low profile allowed me to use in my home office that has a 7’ ceiling. We did add a remote as well as Minka-Aire light kit (it was the lowest profile light that I could find) by drilling a hole in the fan end cap. I chose to use the “weathered oak” vs the "wine country" side of the blades. Anyone over 6’ is going to have to navigate carefully in this room, but I am pleased with the appearance. ... show more

  • great little fan
Color: New Bronze Finish
I needed a low profile fan for our den makeover. The room used to be a closed in patio and we converted it to a living space but the ceiling was low and slanted (as they are in old houses that have been added on to). The old fan/light combo hung down about 17-18 in which really felt in the way. This one I bought specifically because it was only 8-9 in low and smaller fan diameter. The room is about 200 sq ft and so far this fan moves the air great. It is quiet and sleek. We didn't need a fan with lights since we installed flush mount lights on either side of it. We did have to do a little southern engineering for it to hang level while still being flush. My handy man bf built that little wood mount and painted it to blend in to where it's hardly noticeable. ... show more

  • BEWARE those who live in humid environments
Color: New Bronze Finish
This is a really nice fan and excellent for the price. It’s low-profile, quiet, and elegant. However, the blades are made from laminated fiberboard. It looks nice but they are very sensitive to moisture. If you live where it’s humid you have to be very diligent about cleaning the lint/dust that collects on the front edges of the blades. If you leave the buildup too long it will collect moisture and swell the edges. Then the laminate will start to bubble and lift off the blade. I live where it is humid and rainy. So the edges started to swell after only three months of being installed. Keep it clean! ... show more

  • Good fan.
Color: Antique Pewter Finish
This fan is great. I now have two of this model that replaced an older model that I've had some issues with. This model seems to have addressed many of the issues I've discovered with the model it replaced. They are fairly simple to install. Since I had a Hunter fan in place before it was much easier than a brand new install. I simply pulled off the old fan and used the old hardware that was exactly the same (albeit a different color). The shroud and baseplate were exactly the same size. I like that this model has five blades rather than 4 and I will say they are whisper quiet. I can't even hear them when they are on. I did not have to balance the blades on either fan and they move air very well. Also when they say "flush mount" they actually mean it. The shroud sits almost right next to the ceiling so it looks nice and clean. These seem to be a little more sturdy than the model it replaced. I will say that dealing with Hunter's customer service for the old fan was...annoying. They would NOT replace the motor even though it was bad. They insisted on sending me a new switch. I had three of these fans and I changed out every part between all three fans. Guess what part was the one consistent part that didn't work? You got it...the motor. So they send me out a switch. Then when I tell them "That didn't fix the problem" well they said they had to send me a SECOND switch because the first switch might be bad as well because they sit on the shelf and can go bad so it's their policy to send a second switch. *eye twitch* Don't you people test these things before you box them up or before you send them to people? Now I'm no electrical engineer...but unless you store these things at the bottom of the ocean inside the maw of a kraken I figure they're going to work even if they sit on a shelf for three or four years. I finally just called them and said "Well the motor started making this horrible squealing noise and gets very hot if I try to turn it on." They finally had to send me THIS model as a replacement because they old model was no longer being built or sold. They then asked me to chop the wires off the old motor and mail it to them. Bully to you, Hunter Fans. Enjoy your busted motor. I also sent them back the replacement switch...because I may have had to lie to get them to send me the correct part but I am no thief. Also I don't want a switch that's been sitting inside a kraken I'm allergic to shellfish. Good fans, semi-annoying customer service. ... show more

  • Great looking fan at unbeatable price
Color: New Bronze Finish
We looked a long time for a ceiling fan for our living room and were very happy with the purchase of this fan. It sits tight to the ceiling, which was a must (about 9" from ceiling to bottom of fan). The fan itself looks better than fans double the price (was priced at $79 at time of purchase). Both the blades and the body are exceptional quality. Super quiet even at high speed and moves air quite well in our 10x16 living room. Highly recommend. ... show more
