  • Nice modern fan, quiet, fan speed could be better
Bought this refurb unit to replace a fan that had a rattling. It came in a plain box, but I’m pretty sure it was brand new. All pieces were wrapped individually, and all smaller parts (screws) in marked bags. Arrived with a short down rod (2” I believe) and a longer rod (4”). But I purchased a matching 18” downrod made by Hunter for my high ceiling. Installation was easy (but word of warning, if you use the included long wood nails to use in ceiling studs - they strip very easily). A problem I had with my old unit was being able to fit the wireless receiver in the mounting bracket along with all the wires. No issue here. Plenty of room to put the receiver, and the wires have room on the outside of the mounting bracket since the silver dome cover is fairly large. I read other reviews about humming, so I was a little worried - but I made sure all screws were secure and tight in the installation. After installation, fan and lights worked perfectly and no humming. It’s a very quiet fan motor, comparable to my old one - except without the rattling. Very smooth. I have a slight wobbling, and used the balancing weights to minimize it. There’s still a slight wobble, but hoping it won’t affect the longevity. It’s still quiet even with a slight wobble. The fan speeds are why I reduced this to four stars. My older cheaper unit moved much more air on high. This unit the three fan levels are: Level 1: It’s moving, but I can barely feel it. This level is great if you want to mimic a baby mobile for some soothing movement, but it doesn’t really do anything in terms of air flow. Level 2: Slightly faster than Level 1. A very slight breeze and good for a nice quiet rest, but it won’t keep you that cool at night. Level 3: This is the speed I will be using all the time. It’s a nice air flow and more equivalent to a medium on my old unit. Won’t blow away the papers on your desk like my old unit’s fastest speed, but it works for you my purposes (staying cool at night). The lights are brighter than my old unit, which I’m happy about. It can take up to 14 watt LED bulbs, so you may be able to go brighter (included is two 800 lumen bulbs). I had some trial an error with the dimming feature on the remote. It’s very slow and you have to hold the button for it to dim and then wait an entire cycle to increase. Not the easiest to use remote (only four buttons, one for light, one for fan, and up and down arrow buttons mainly for fan use - but I learned later you can go to maximum light (reset the dimmer) by holding down both up and down buttons. It’s a lot of memorizing and it will be difficult for someone who doesn’t have the instructions to figure out how to use. So if this is for a guest room fan, you may want to keep a copy of the instructions taped to the remote. All-in-all, I like the unit. The brushed metal looks nice and the unit is my preferred style of modern. Three blades has always appealed to me, and these blades are very square. It’s quiet enough to not disrupt my sleep, and the highest speed is good air flow for my needs. Update: 6/18/22, it’s been over a year now of having this fan - and now I’m getting strange rattling noises. When I first turn it on, it’s fine - but after a few hours the rattling will start. Almost like a screw is loose and rolling around the unit intermittently. But if I go to inspect and shake the fan, I don’t hear anything. It’s enough to drive anyone insane. It wakes me up at night when it starts to rattle after a few hours. It’s still perfectly balanced and taking it apart reveals nothing (however trying to get into the motor compartment is impossible, and that’s where I think the rattle is originating). I returned my previous fan because of an intermittent rattle, and now I need to get rid of this fan as well. I simply cannot sleep with any kind of noise that isn’t either white noise or somewhat consistent. ... show more

  • Works and looks good. Controller could use some work
Got this fan almost a year ago, and so far it works great. The included bulbs are 3000k, which I love. I ended up swapping them out though because they were a bit dim The fan itself works fantastic. It looks amazing, and out of the box it was balanced almost perfectly; it had almost no movement at all. I still used the included balancing kit and not the thing is rock solid, even at full speed. It's not the fastest or most powerful fan I've used, but it moves a decent ammount of air and is relatively quiet. The controller is a big let-down though. For one, I think it should include 2 remotes; the one it comes with already and one to put where the light switch goes. Many times family members try to turn on the light with the switch, not realizing it wont work; you HAVE to use the remote to turn the light or the fan either on or off (the fan remembers where it was if it loses power) The biggest problem is the dimmer. you first have to activate it by holding both the up and down arrows at the same time. once its activated, you long press the light button and the light slowly dims and brightens. you're supposed to release the button when the light reaches the intensity you want. However, theres like a 3 second delay between you releasing the button and the light staying where it is, so dimming the light to where you want it is impossible. even if you try to time it right, the light seems to behave a little erratically. The dimmer seems to be either a complete after thought, or just tossed in to cheack a box on a list. If you use the dimmer, this is not the fan for you. TL;DR. Fan works great. Included LED bulbs are good, but a bit dim. Dimmer is trash. ... show more

  • Nice
Absolutely loved the fan! Only downside is I ordered two and only one of the fans was correct. Still not received a response from the supplier. Hope, eventually they will get around to addressing this matter. Still need the other fan.

  • Good fan with minor gripes
Buying fans online is tough, but this one worked out for the most part. It looks great, is completely silent at low setting, and can get pretty fast, all while staying balanced. I put it on the smaller of the two downrods and it looks really good on my 10 foot office ceiling in a 12x12 room. A couple things to note: I originally put up the longer downrod because it thought it was the shorter and only one. When I was throwing away the packaging, I realized that there was ANOTHER downrod tucked away in the packaging, so look very very carefully for it since it's only like 2 inches long. The shorter downrod is shown in my picture. The reason I give it 4/5 instead of 5/5: 1. This fan doesn't work with a wall dimmer switch and fan speed switch. I had to turn on my fan speed switch to the lowest setting, and then use the handheld remote for the light/fan. When I turn up the fan speed switch to position 3 and 4, the fan emits a loud humming. I'm no electrician, but I don't think that's a good sign, so I don't mess with it. 2. The remote comes with a little guide for how to use it, but I can't figure out how to actually use the dimming feature, so this fan effectively does not have dimming capabilities to me. I would probably give the fan a 3/5 for these reasons, but it just looks too good and is too quiet for me to be mad. ... show more
